It's not easy, but half the fun is progressing and we've built the system and have the team in place to make sure your learning curve is as fast as it can be. We know having a structure to learning to surf

& recognizable goals is crucial to improving. Our coaches are the backbone of our company & they're long time qualified professionals that have made surf coaching their career. Set in the beautiful countryside, offering a tranquil escape spot in nature; our lodge is just 10 minute drive away is the historic town of Lagos... With fantastic restaurants, a great range of bars and lively nightlife, staying at Tiny Whales Surf Lodge you have the best of both worlds! Tiny Whale is ideal for couples, families, groups of friends and solo travellers looking for a little more space, but want to enjoy the lively social atmosphere of the Surf Lodge and try our fantastic activities on offer. Let our incredible in-house chef treat you to a delicious home-cooked two course meal. Dinner is served five nights a week, including Saturday night DIY pizza to commence the week and our BBQ social every Friday, a way to toast the end of a great week with your new friends.

Every wave goes through 4 stages 🌊
And the better you understand them… the easier surfing becomes.

Stage A — The Formation
The swell approaches the sandbank or reef and starts feeling the bottom.
Energy compresses. The wave begins to stand up.
This is where good surfers already start reading the wave before it even breaks.

Stage B — The Take Off Zone
The critical moment.
The wave gets steep, fast, and asks the big question:
“Are you committing or not?”
Too late and you freefall.
Too early and the wave passes under you.

Stage C — The Power Zone
The wave is now fully breaking.
This is where the speed, pocket, spray, turns and real surfing happen.
Stay close to the energy and the wave does half the work for you.

Stage D — The Whitewater
The wave loses power and melts back into the ocean.
For beginners, this is often the safest place.
For experienced surfers, it’s the moment to kick out… and already look for the next one.

Most people only see a wave.
Surfers see timing, energy and opportunity 🤝🏽
