Dona Graça, a primeira Dona

O pai era um fidalgo boémio e de bom coração e a mãe uma fadista atraente com muitos pretendentes. Viveram felizes e deixaram-lhe de herança a casa de família na Rua da Bela Vista à Graça, onde tinham um restaurante e casa de fados. Dona Graça transformou-a mais tarde numa casa de hóspedes e foi uma figura central do bairro até à sua morte. Há dois anos, três amigos reabilitaram a casa, mantendo a traça original, o restaurante, o verde do jardim, ao qual estão a acrescentar uma piscina para refrescar nos dias de verão, o carinho pelos produtos portugueses e a arte de bem receber quem procura a experiência de viver intensamente Lisboa, num dos bairros mais carismáticos da cidade. Entre as sete colinas, a da Graça é a que se ergue mais alto. Nota: A segunda parte da história, dos três amigos que reabilitaram o edifício, é verdade. A primeira parte, sobre a Dona Graça, é apenas uma história bonita, inventada quando sonharam trazer de volta ao bairro esta casa.

Dona Graça - The First Dona

Her father was a bohemian gentleman with a good heart and her mother an attractive fadista with many suitors. They lived happily and left her daughter as an inheritance the family house in Rua da Bela Vista à Graça, where they had a restaurant and a fado house. Dona Graça later transformed it into a guest house and was a central figure of the neighborhood until her death. Two years ago, three friends rehabilitated the house, keeping the original layout, the restaurant, the green of the garden, to which they are adding a swimming pool to refresh in the summer days, the affection for Portuguese products and the art of welcoming those seeking to truly experience Lisbon, in one of the most charismatic districts of the city. Among the seven hills, that of Grace is the one that rises higher.

Note: The second part of the story, of the three friends who rehabilitated the building, is true. The first part, about Dona Graça, is just a beautiful story, invented when they were dreaming to bring this house back to the neighborhood.
