Apartment 126

Do you remember that famous movie where someone said that the last floor is always the best? Well this is the case of flat 126.

Our apartment is located on the 4th floor of an old building in Alfama, one of the most typical neighbourhoods of Lisbon. One of the balconies overlooks the Tagus and the towns on the opposite river bank, the ferries coming and going, the fresh breeze of the waterfront and the movement of seagulls. The other side faces the narrow streets and alleyways up the Castle slopes - the typical sounds and

odors of the life of the quarter come through the windows at any time of the day. Lazy cats on the old roofs and laundry hanging from the windows...
Across the street, there's the Fado Museum and at a short walking distance the town center - Baixa and Chiado. Nearby there's the subway and the international train station of Santa Apolónia.
