This is Vhils' first solo exhibition in a museum and the most extensive display of a career which, albeit recent, has already gained a foothold on several continents.
You can see his work at Museu da Electricidade in Lisboa, until 5th October.
"He works on the removal of the superficial layers of walls and other supports using unconventional tools and techniques, establishing symbolic reflections on life in the cities, the passage of time and the interdependence of people and the environment. His innovative technique of excavation has brought critical acclaim. Since 2005, he has presented his work around the world in solo and group exhibitions, events and institutions, and in site-specific interventions. He has participated in some of the most prestigious contemporary urban art projects."
