ISDE 2019, Portimão, Algarve, Portugal. 11 to 16 November. Paddock and HQ at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, 25 minutes from Quinta da Coruja Monchique. Day 3 & 4 of ISDE is The Monchique Challenge, 310km each day! We can offer accommodation, support and a base for a race team, a group of entrants or spectators. We are able to accommodate up to 20 people in our villa and glamping tents with the addition of having loads of space for race trucks, campervans, tents and also secure bike storage and workshop area.

Nature bounces back! It is so rewarding to watch the land recover after the devastating wildfires in August last year.
Our two huge palm trees are growing new fronds with vigour, the blackened trunks now revealing some orange, and seemingly wearing the scorch with an air of determined survival and making them look simply splendid... a daily reminder to carry on regardless!
Unfortunately we lost some very old and beautiful cork oaks to the fire, this wood is being lovingly kept and recycled into furniture and artistic sculptures; the surviving cork oaks are standing majestically with loads of new growth and housing many feathered and non feathered visitors.
Most of the Medronho bushes were burnt, but this has provided us with tons of glorious firewood over the winter, and the new green shoots are growing with a vengeance. The (outsourcing of the) medronho distilling will need to be on a small scale approach until the bushes are mature again!
The Spring flowers are in abundance, the new plantings are flourishing, the land is filled with birdsong and we can almost see the weeds growing! We've had a lot of rain over the last few months, the flora and fauna are loving it.
