Ronha é resistência, é um direito que nos assiste, é desobediência, ao parar, descansar e interromper o burburinho de estímulos da dita civilização incessante. Observar as cores, os estados, a evolução da natureza que nos rodeia. Reflictir sobre toda a sua lógica e decidir o que queremos aproveitar nesta passagem pela terra. Ronha é uma força interior que admite o reconhecimento do nosso lugar no mundo. Ronha és tu, eu e todos nós.

Ronha is resistance, it is a right, it is disobedience, by stopping, resting, and interrupting the constant buzz of stimuli from the so-called civilization. Observing the colors, the states, the evolution of the nature that surrounds us. Reflecting on its logic and deciding on what we want to take advantage of in this passage through the earth. Ronha is an inner force that allows us to recognize our place in the world. Ronha is you, me, and all of us.

A Zambujeira e a costa Vicentina são conhecidas como um Alentejo de personalidade extravagante, terra de uma beleza estonteante e de uma paisagem discrepante mas igualmente uma terra sem recursos. Um dos objectivos dos deste ano era a renovação da cozinha e não é que conseguimos, à quarta, mas conseguimos! 💪 Só vence nesta terra quem é resiliente, resistente e contundente! Representativo desta afirmação são as suas estradas, as mais bonitas para se conduzir, estradas que nos iludem de que somos os únicos, tornando no entanto evidente o nível de isolamento da sua gente, sendo que, é uma realidade, que em média, estamos somente a cerca de 20 minutos da civilização. É verdade que conseguimos, e conseguimos a instalação de painéis solares de forma a aproveitar um dos recursos mais poderosos da zona, o sol. Mas tudo indica que ainda mais temos à nossa espera porque somos uns eternos procuradores de melhorias e investigadores de confortos. A cozinha tem agora máquina de lavar a loiça e tem muito mais espaço de bancada, ficou uma cozinha mais actual e mais funcional. Venham vivê-la connosco!

Zambujeira and Costa Vicentina are known as an Alentejo region with an extravagant personality, a land of stunning beauty and a striking landscape, but also a land lacking resources. One of the goals of this year was to renovate the kitchen, and we did it on the fourth try, but we did it! 💪 Only the resilient, resistant, and determined succeed in this land! Representative of this statement are its roads, the most beautiful to drive on, roads that make us believe we are alone, while highlighting the isolation of its people, but in reality, in average, we are only about 20 minutes from civilization. It’s true that we succeeded, and we managed to install solar panels to take advantage of one of the area’s most powerful resources: the sun. But everything indicates that even more awaits us because we are eternal seekers of improvements and investigators of comforts. The kitchen now has a dishwasher and much more counter space; it’s a more modern and functional kitchen. Come and experience it with us!

Working in tourism has brought us a lot more flexibility in terms of time, this meaning that we don’t have to work at a fixed daily schedule, however this also brings a lot more unpredictability to our lives, it is demanded of us to be available at anytime, everywhere, and this is greatly unrewarding. Summer is no exception (caught in camera by ) with the extra challenge of having the kids all the time. It is hard work but the creation of a project like Montes da Ronha from scratch has made us both proud! On the second photo, Michael is looking at the landscape almost ten years ago. And we are still climbing the mountain! 💪

A pedra das escadas é nossa, arrancada do solo por um pedreiro local que depois construiu os degraus da piscina para a casa. Os objectos decorativos são locais e utilizados antigamente na lavoura.
