Five years ago this stunning girl marched into Casa do Sol convinced she was the queen of the garden... 👑 She was beautiful, incredibly strong and agile, and had absolutely no intention of letting Betto Boy & Wild Jasper tell her what she could or couldn’t do. I secretly admired that about her, although she also managed to turn our usually peaceful little garden into something of a royal battlefield!

Her reign at Casa do Sol wasn’t very long. Betto and Jasper never quite accepted the new queen, and she certainly stood her ground against anyone who failed to recognise her royal authority! Eventually, someone we knew fell in love with her and gave her a home of her own, much to the relief, peace and tranquillity of the courtyard! But what a presence she had. Some animals pass through your life quietly; others arrive, rearrange the atmosphere and leave you remembering them years later. She was definitely one of those. Bless her.

Long live the Queen who briefly ruled Casa do Sol. 👑🐾❤️ 😸

Stuffed chicken breast with blue cheese, tomato, leek, garlic, smoked paprika and Italian herbs, then potatoes, carrots and aubergine roasted in the same tray, soaking up all the extra olive oil & chicken juices... Divine! 😛🙏😛

A perfect day to let nothing happen graciously: Three swims in the glorious, crystal clear waters of Armação de Pêra beach, calming waters, time with Phil, reading and writing, meeting people, going to the local, coming home and cooking dinner. As vezes é bom não fazer nada, né!😘
