The CasaGranturismo Design Village complex in Silves promotes the construction of 14,320 m2 of residential spaces and 7,380 m2 of commercial and service areas over 39,120 m2 in the west part of the city, for a universe of 390 inhabitants. An all Portuguese inve

stment of a total of 24 million Euros. With its beginnings in 2005, the realestate project CasaGranturismo Design Village in Silves aims to define a proper model for sustainable urban development with the ability to attract a new type of habitant, based on a vision of the Algarve that extends from the Sea to the Hills. In an effort to understand what new ways of inhabiting a territory such as the Algarve, between locals and tourists, the CasaGranturismo Agency [www.casagranturismo.org] team invited 22 teams of world renown architects from 11 different countries to present 22 proposals for housing for Silves. Building for the first time in Portugal, it’s in Silves were they will be developing this housing complex with 19 houses and 70 apartments, now available for sale.
