Now that I’ve had a chance to update the website, I can announce that Relaxscape has been through a phoenix rebirth! 😊🐦‍🔥✨ I am no longer running retreats or alojamento local (ie guesthouse/B&B). It’s evolved into a short-term co-living shared house for women who are starting over, or in need of some time out, or in a transition period.

As I found out for myself when I moved here 8 years ago to start my new life, Relaxscape is the perfect setting to connect with nature so you can reconnect with yourself, reset your nervous system and find yourself again under all the layers of conditioning that society piles onto us over the years. So now I’m offering other women the chance to experience this for themselves. You can read all about how it works on the new website here. Please feel free to share and spread the word, thank you, and I look forward to welcoming some of you soon 🌺 (rooms are booking up already, into next year, I’m happy to say)

Por isso, estou a procura duma/dum assistente administrativa(o) teletrabalho em regime part-time (16 a 20 horas por semana), que será responsável por gerenciar o bom funcionamento da propriedade, a comunicar com as hóspedes e a cuidar da administração relacionada a reservas e pagamentos, além de verificar que os serviços de limpeza e manutenção estão a funcionar como devem ser, e a realizar algumas atividades de marketing online. É preciso ter fluência em português e em inglês, tanto na escrita quanto na fala. 🇬🇧 Relaxscape is evolving! (And so am I) and so I am looking for a part-time (16-20 hrs per week) remote-working admin assistant, who will take responsibility for managing the smooth running of the property, communicating with guests and the admin related to bookings and payments, liaising with the cleaning & maintenance contractors and some online marketing. Must have a good level of fluency in both Portuguese and English, written and spoken. A beautiful foggy morning here this morning! 🤩

Since I’ve been living here in Portugal, I’ve been gradually rediscovering my creativity, finding my voice, finding myself, my medium, my frequency.

Today it inspired me to create this vocal piece, a combination of singing a Tibetan Buddhist prayer set to polyphonic music, and one of my poems, “You are Light”. The link is in the first comment ⬇️ I hope you enjoy listening 🤗🎧🎶

I can personally vouch for the healing and inspiring effects of spending time immersed in nature and mindful meditation among the olive trees! So far it’s inspired me to write and publish three books of poetry, start painting and sketching, and play and produce my own music and songs, as well as singing fado 😄💚 In other words, the combination of nature, yoga, meditation and a healthier. gentler pace of life allowed me to step out of my head and into my body, so that I could discover what my heart had been trying to tell me for a long time – that for us to find what brings us joy in life, our ikigai, requires us to slow down, to retreat from the hectic, distracting, non-stop life we think we must live, and start to enjoy the moment.

Now I truly understand that life is about being, not doing. When we are in a state of being, we connect with our life force energy, and our creativity becomes the expression of our love for life, our ikigai. It’s the embodiment of our spirituality, shifting out of the duality of our ego and thinking mind and into the oneness of our heart space.

An ARTeZen week at Relaxscape is the perfect winter escape! Come and make your own mosaic, guided by well-known local mosaic artist Lucy Jackson Crocodilo amarelo - mosaicos e artesanatos, or if you prefer to sketch and paint watercolours, the skilled Silvi De Jaeger Artist is on hand to help you learn or improve your techniques. Enjoy an experience of life in a typical rural Portuguese village for a week, in beautiful countryside of central Portugal 🙂 Places still available for November, December or January.
