Late October is lovely here. Golden light on the hills, long walks through the village, a warm house to come back to, and mornings that invite you to stay a little longer over coffee.

AlmaCalma officially closes for the season on November 1st. After that, we’ll only open occasionally until spring. For those who want to experience the quiet magic of the colder months, you can now book a few special weekends directly on our website:

This year, AlmaCalma will stay open until 1 November.

Between 23 October and 1 November, we’ll have our last days of the season before the house settles into its winter rhythm. After that, until spring, we’ll only open occasionally.

We have just four rooms. Which means that if you’re thinking of coming with friends or family, finding two rooms for the same dates can be a little harder. And all four, rarer still.

Someone once practised the Latin alphabet on this roof tile, in an old German script, possibly Kurrent.

The letters were scratched into the clay before it was fired, probably sometime in the nineteenth century. Who made them? Perhaps a young apprentice, someone learning to write, someone teaching another person, or simply someone proud of being able to write. Who knows?

Iacob Mihai gave us this tile on 23 August, exactly eight years after our old house in Alma Vii became ours. It felt like the most extraordinary gift.

🎬 Pe 15 august, după concertul Byron Duo, programul Zilelor Cetății Alma Vii se va încheia la AlmaCalma Guesthouse cu proiecția cinematografică „De ce mă cheamă Nora, când cerul meu e senin” (2023, regia Carla Maria Teaha). Un documentar surprinzător, sensibil, poetic, de o sinceritate fermecătoare – la fel ca atât de tânăra Nora Iuga, după mai bine de 90 de ani de viață.

🥂+🧀 Vom însoți filmul cu vin bun transilvănean și selecție de brânzeturi artizanale de la Manufactura de Brânză .

✨ Vom vedea filmul într-o șură deschisă, care curând împlinește și ea un secol, într-o atmosferă de liniște și relaxare. Recomandăm ținută și haine comode.

💸 30 lei din prețul fiecărui bilet reprezintă o donație pentru Asociația Alma Vii , ale cărei proiecte dedicate comunității satului și în special copiilor sunt foarte necesare.

🫶 Proiecția este oferită de Bad Unicorn și face parte din seria de evenimente Seri de film la AlmaCalma.
