When teaching cultural diversity, negotiation and stereotypes at our department it is a nice perspective on Romanians…and we become curious!👀
🇷🇴 Myths vs. Facts: What do statistics really say about Romanians?
Three students from Colegiul Național “Onisifor Ghibu” in Oradea challenged some of the most common stereotypes about Romanians using data, not opinions. Their statistics-based project earned them success in both national and international competitions, proving that facts are stronger than prejudice.
Bogdan Ștefan Silaghi, Rareș Bogdan Hodăian, and Eduard Hoti, members of the DataOut team, represented Romania in the European Statistics Olympiad after analyzing official data to test widespread assumptions about Romanians. Their work demonstrates how critical thinking and statistical evidence can help break down myths and encourage a more accurate understanding of society. (Observatorul Bihorean)
This video shows that stereotypes may be loud, but data tells the real story.
👏 Congratulations to these talented students for representing both their school and Romania with excellence!
