This village has 500 people. No Starbucks. No pavement. No wifi passwords.

Just 800-year-old Saxon houses, a UNESCO church fortress, and sheep that block your car like they own the road. Which they do.

Viscri, Transylvania. Built 1100s. The white fortified church on the hill? Villagers still hide there when danger comes. Last time was 1600s against the Ottomans. Walls are 23ft thick.

Prince Charles loved it so much he bought a house here in 2006. Blue one, bottom right. No secret service. He just shows up, drinks plum brandy with locals, leaves.

Dracula never lived here. But Bram Stoker's description of Transylvania? This is it. Fog in the valleys. Horse carts. No street lights. At night you see the Milky Way, not ads.

Church tower has 300-year-old bacon in it. Villagers stored it there because it was the safest place. Cold stone + thick walls = medieval fridge. Some of it is still there.

You can stay in those houses. $25/night. No TV. Owner brings you eggs from the chickens outside your window.
