The Monastery Church is a combination of styles. The exterior is dominated by the Gothic style, present on the facades, windows and arches. The southern portal stands out through the wooden door, which belongs to the Renaissance style. Inside, Baroque predominates, and the heritage pieces are truly remarkable.

There is one unique feature about the Monastery Church in Sighisoara: An intriguing triptych featuring a painting of what looks to be an Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) is located in the sacristy. The fact that the corresponding artwork was created in the 18th century, when the abbey was rebuilt after a disastrous fire, makes it all the more bizarre. At that time, a number of highly stylized paintings were also added. (Swipe to see a selection).

The Monastery Church in Sighisoara, which dates back to 1298, was a church used by Dominican monks, and is one of the oldest historical landmarks. Today, the Evangelical Lutheran Church is housed in this major Sighisoara Citadel site. On feast days, the priest officiates a lovely service before leaving the church and shaking hands with every parishioner. Between 1484 and 1515, the abbey underwent a major reconstruction using hall-style architecture.

The "Church on the Hill", also known as "Biserica din Deal" in Romanian and "Bergkirche" in German, is a revered church in Sighişoara, Romania. This church, which is the third largest in Transylvania, is the most significant piece of religious architecture in Sighisoara. The church, which is situated at a height of 429 meters on the Hilltop School, dominates the entire city with its size and can be seen from a significant distance in practically all directions. The three-aisled Romanesque basilica evolved from the chapel of an early Szekler- or Noble castle. It had a bell tower at the western side, which was later incorporated into the new hall church during alterations in the 14th century.

Valchid - The six story eastern tower with wooden defence level served as gate tower and bell tower in the same time. The southern tower collapsed end of the 19th Century, the other ones have been preserved. The classical sail vault now defines the interior of the nave, but the chancel still preserves its lierne vault from 1507. The organ altar, the pulpit and the font are dated beginning of the 19th Century.

Valchid - The hall church with polygonal chancel was erected around 1390. Later a sacristy was built on the northern side, followed in 1441 on the western side by the richly decorated portal with ogee arch. The church itself was never fortified, but the assembly was surrounded in 1600 by a nowadays about 6m high wall, protected by five defence towers.

The settlement of Valchid is tucked away in a tranquil side valley in Târnava Mare. A pre-reformation church was constructed here in the 14th century and is still standing today. It has a few defense towers and a fortification wall around it. History has not always been kind to Valchid, yet it serves as an emblem of the area's turbulent past. The first recorded mention is from 1317 and concerns an effort to settle a property dispute with a neighboring community. Over the following 450 years, the battle reignited often. Passing army sacked the town and the church in 1605.

In the past, it was customary in Chirpăr (Kirchberg) for the villagers to gather for a dance in front of the church following the religious ceremony. The so-called "Maibaum" (German for "the May tree"), which was practiced both here and in many Saxon villages, was another highly-regarded tradition. Since it was first observed in ancient times, this practice has a lengthy history. The tree was revered as a slayer of dark and evil powers in the 13th century and used to represent the resolve to life. It assumes the function of "Liebesmaien" (the German word for "The May of love") in the 16th century, when rural boys planted trees in the yards of their loved ones to serve as messengers of love and convey their secret affections.

Dedicated to St. Nicholas, the hilltop church in Sighișoara is a Lutheran church that was built in several stages between 1345-1525. It is located at the top of the so-called "School Hill" (Schulberg in German). It is the third largest ecclesiastical building in Transylvania and one of the most emblematic Gothic-style structures. It may be seen from any location in the city and from any height. It was constructed at a height of 429 meters, and it served as the fortress's final defensive point. It has a 42-meter-high bell tower that forms a foreign body with the rest of the structure and extends somewhat to the south. It features Transylvania's only known crypt beneath the choir, which contains tombs dating from the 16th to the 18th centuries.
