📌 NIKOLAI OSTROVSKY MUSEUM was founded on May, 1 1937, some months after the writer’s death. His country house keeps all the atmosphere of Ostrovsky’s tense life and struggle. It was a person of an unbelievable destiny and fortitude. Having lost his eyesight and the ability to move he found the strength and will to become a writer. The power of his personality attracts thousands of visitors. It’s very interesting that the country house was designed taking into account the peculiarities of his physical health.

Next to the house there is a literary part of the museum. Here you can see an exposition “Literary Sochi” connected with such names as Lev Tolstoy, Fedor Dostoevsky, Sergei Yesenin, Vladimir Mayakovsky and many others.

📌 ZIMNIY THEATER, the main stage of the resort, was opened in 1938. Ninety four columns around the building create a Corinthian architectural composition. The auditorium has 946 seats. A huge chandelier with crystal pendants decorates the ceiling. It is also a house of the city oldest concert organization - the Sochi state Philharmonic. The Zimniy Theater annually hosts such large-scale projects as the Sochi Open Russian Film Festival “Kinotavr”, International Y.Bashmet Art Festival, International Opera Festival in honor of G.Vishnevskaya, Y.Grigorovich International Competition "Young Ballet of the World».

📌 “PHYTOFANTASY” GARDEN, founded in 1991, is an exhibition of a landscape designer Sergei Venchagov where dozens of exotic plants blend with tree roots, stones, glass and other materials. It is a presentation of mastery of extraordinary outdoor design. Nowadays this natural monument of regional significance is maintained by matronly warden Lubov Ivanovna and volunteers.

📌 RIVIERA PARK is the most popular park for rest and entertainment in central Sochi. It occupies 15 hectares where there are 240 plant species, 50 of which are especially valuable. It is said that right from Riviera Park Sochi has started its history as a resort. The main attraction of the park is the so called The Glade of Friendship. The magnolias there were planted by famous politicians and cosmonauts. Here you can also find lots of other activities to have a nice time. There are various attractions for children and adults, theater, dolphinarium, souvenir shops, cafes and a pumproom with free mineral water “Plastunskaya”. Riviera Park has all the conditions to relax and have some fun!

📌 NAVAGINSKAYA STREET is a favorite walking place for both citizens and city guests. It leads from the Sea Port right to the Sochi Railway Station. It is a pedestrian alley where you can relax and sip your coffee surrounded by beautiful plants. The main city square with light and music fountain is also situated here.

📋 CHECK LIST: WHAT TO VISIT IN CENTRAL SOCHI (PART 1)

📌 SOCHI SEA PORT is an architectural monument of Federal importance and a landmark that you have seen for sure on most of the resort’s souvenirs.
The biggest Black Sea passenger port was opened in 1955. It was made with expensive materials in Stalin empire style. The height of the tower with a spire is 71 meters. It is divided into three tiers where you can see sculptural figures of the four seasons and the four cardinal points.
Also, here, on the main deep-water pier Leonid Gaidai filmed an episode of the Russian cult comedy film “The Diamond Arm”.

📌 SOCHI GRAND MARINA appeared during the reconstruction for the Olympics 2014.
Some water area of the port was converted into a Marina and a technical zone. Now it is the most modern and safe yacht parking that can accommodate up to 300 sea-crafts.
Convenient geographical position provides all year round navigation and the opportunity to reach Crimea, Georgia, Turkey, Romania and Bulgaria in a few hours. The infrastructure also includes bars and restaurants, boutiques and a shopping gallery.
