I worked hard on renovating during my 2025 visits, it was a welcome distraction from the crushing grief I still feel after losing my husband. While I got the house how I wanted it and took all the photos, I wasn’t so good at updating Airbnb, so that’s been today’s job!

I’ve thought long and hard about what I charge, because I just don’t get the volume of bookings the more expensive places do. People had pointed out that maybe I need to increase prices, so it doesn’t look as “cheap”, but we never bought this house to Airbnb. This isn’t a business, it’s our family home, the place my husband and I hoped to move into permanently. Obviously things changed over the years and now I do rely on rental income to help cover the bills, but I still want to keep it a good value, affordable home where families can enjoy a budget holiday to Lapland.

With that in mind I’ve set pricing at a flat rate of 1,250 (£100) per night. This will not alter, it’s that price any time of year. December or not. School holidays or not. There is a 10% discount for stays of a week or more and 25% off long term stays (28+ days).
