Just installed a Corego s2 system in LE-studio, Gavle, Sweden.
This is a small footprint studio built in a studiobricks (studiobricks.com) isolation booth. The acoustics in these booths is excellent and the s2 works superbly in here. The mid/side reproduction of the Corego systems makes monitoring less dependent on room properties and you can reliably cut A - grade mixes in here...or pretty much anywhere you care to work for that matter.

With the real mid (vs the phantom mid of traditional stereo pairs) it's dead easy to get the pans, levels and overall balance of the mix just right. A great user comment is "It's like putting on an autopilot for eq'ing".
Also the Corego is an absolute reference for the width and depth of your mix. In the scenario there is three different stereo pairs of loudspeakers in a studio...switching between them will give three different versions of phantom mid and the width perception will differ with the distance between the loudspeakers.
With mid/side reproduction there is one, totally phase accurate, source of sound and the stereo width and depth percieved is coming Only From The Mix.

Happy New Year Everyone! :)

Some interesting news for all who enjoy high quality portable sound at home, in the office, on the bus...you name it...

Fredrik Gunnarsson the inventor of Embracing Sound (The mid/side reproduction technology used in our Corego f1 and s2 Studio Monitor Systems) has designed a new exciting flexible loudspeaker system for the consumer market named aiFi Artificial Intelligence Fidelity.

This is a modular sound system which allows stacking several units and through the artificial intelligence they scale and adapt to provide a better and better sound experience.

I find this incredibly cool and exciting :)

I haven't heard the aiFi speakers myself yet but I have a deep respect for Fredrik's work founded by the performance of our Corego systems. This makes anything that has his name on it highly interesting and I'm looking forward to the first opportunity I get to listen to them.

If you're around Las Vegas for the CES2015 show I sincerely recommend checking out booth #75556 for what I believe to be an awesome sound experience.

Our Corego s2 system has been elected one of the five best monitors of 2014 in this guide from Swedish Pro Audio Magazine Studio and being one of the monitors which has impressed the most this year. :)
The article calls the Corego a surgical tool for audio and mixing.

It also says it's among the more expensive monitors in the article...however considering a single Corego system allows 5.1 surround mixing and acts as a 5.1 to stereo downmix algorithm the high price statement is quite debatable.

The article also mentions the need for a subwoofer with the system which is very correct as the Corego has been designed to be used with a subwoofer.

Working in a Nufeeld system (mid/side reproduction environment) gives the great advantage of a fresh perspective to your mixes.

Sitting in the "Sweet Line" along the center axis of the loudspeaker you have an optimal balance of mid and side components and an absolute reference for the width and depth of your mix.

If you have several different pairs of loudspeakers in your studio switching between them is never an absolute reference as the perception of width will vary with the distance between the speakers.

There is no guess work in a Nufeeld system as all sound is coming from a single point source which also eliminates comb filter artefacts and gives a superbly clean time domain.

I'm sorry about the review being written in Swedish. Some highlights from the review states "Corego is a merciless truth teller" and "There is not a phase error on this planet which passes this system by. @ the Royal Music Academy (KMH) in Stockholm. The Music and Media Production training had for some time been using a rough prototype of our TOPSIDE™ shelf for their COREGO™-f1 system.

I was very happy to deliver an advanced prototype of the TOPSIDE™ shelf. It was very well received with comments like "This makes things look 2016...or even -17".

This was actually the first time I saw the whole thing myself having kept the protective plastic on the 1" transparent acrylic shelf.
I must say I was very happy with the results myself :)
Few things "say" hi-tech like a thick see-through piece of acrylic.
Also brings a sense of levity like if the loudspeaker is floating in mid air above your screen.
