En otrolig kväll och invigning av Varbergs Kusthotells nya matsalar och kök med några av Sveriges bästa kockar 😍 Otroligt att fått vara med inte bara på denna kväll utan faktiskt från dag ett när vi rullade in första leveransen 31 dec 2024 dagen efter att gänget bakom Ästad fått ta över nycklarna, det är bara att lyfta på hatten för det ni åstadkommit på så kort tid 🎩

Vi skulle vilja presentera vår eminenta nya kollega Rasmus som kommer axla rollen som säljare i Stockholm.
Jag har känt Rasmus i snart 10 år och alltid slagits av hans jordnära och ödmjuka personlighet och att han för det mesta alltid är en glad prick som har nära till skratt 😍
Förutom att han är världens snällaste och trevligaste människa så är han en jävel på vin och en fantastisk känsla för mat och vin i alla dess former så slå han en pling skicka ett dm eller ett mail för att få ynnesten och hänga och prova vin med denna fantastiska människa 🕺 Tacksam och glad att få kalla dig kollega ❤️

One of the things I’ve always appreciated with Vincent is that he has never tried to make wines to impress anyone. He trusts his vineyards, works incredibly hard and lets Cumières speak for itself.

His Cumières Premier Cru Brut Nature is exactly that. Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier from seven different plots in Cumières, farmed biodynamically on these warm south facing slopes just outside Épernay. Fermented with native yeast, aged in old oak, no filtration, no dosage.

What I love here is the balance between generosity and tension. There is depth, but always freshness. The kind of champagne that keeps opening up in the glass and reminds you why terroir still matters.

And yes… champagne somehow tastes even better in bigger formats. Magnum and 3L on the table tonight 🍾?

Hidden inside Les Folatières in Puligny-Montrachet lies one of the strangest little stories in Burgundy.

When the vineyards of Burgundy were officially classified in the 1930s, almost all of this hillside became 1er cru Folatières. But one tiny section was left behind as village level despite being completely surrounded by premier cru vineyards.

At the time, this small part was believed to have slightly deeper and more fertile soils than the surrounding sections higher up the slope, which is why it never received 1er cru status while everything around it did.

Today the distinction feels almost impossible to understand when standing there. The terroir is nearly identical to the surrounding Folatières parcels, which is also why this tiny section has become something of a cult site among Burgundy lovers over the years.

Pierre Girardin owns one of the parcels here and the only other owner of this rare section is Lalou Bize-Leroy through D’Auvenay.

One of those beautiful Burgundy stories where history and terroir never completely align.

Very happy to finally welcome Domaine de Vernus to our portfolio. A young but already very serious estate in Beaujolais, founded in 2019 in Régnié Durette.

Behind the project is Frédéric Jametton together with Guillaume Rouget, grandson of the legendary Henri Jayer. The philosophy is clear from the start, to treat cru Beaujolais with the same precision and long term ambition as great Burgundy.

Old vines, low yields, manual harvests and parcel by parcel vinification. The wines are aged in Burgundian barrels for up to 18 months, resulting in Beaujolais with structure, minerality and real ageing potential.

This is not about simple fruit driven Beaujolais.
This is Beaujolais with backbone.

2023 Régnié
Structured, mineral driven and energetic with darker fruit, vibrant acidity and fine tannins.

2023 Fleurie
More floral and precise, showing red berries, violets and silky texture with a distinctly Burgundian feel.

2023 Fleurie “La Dîme”
More concentrated and serious, with layered red fruit, floral complexity, minerality and impressive structure.

2023 Moulin à Vent “Les Vérillats”
The most powerful wine in the range. Dark fruit, depth, tannic grip and long mineral finish built for ageing.

A producer to watch very closely.

Les Vignes de Mon Oncle is the latest from Vincent Laval.

These are vines he took over from his uncle, plus a few parcels around Cumières. Not yet certified organic, so it goes under his own name rather than Georges Laval.

60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, from seven old-vine parcels spread across the slope in a south-facing amphitheater.

Based 2022 with around 15% reserve from 2021 and zero dosage 🤙🏻😎
