The Inclusive City promotes fair, non-discriminatory growth. It is a place where everyone has the opportunity and right to take part fully in the social, financial and political life that cities have to offer. IFHP (International Federation of Housing and Planning) and the City of Gothenburg are the joint organisers of the annual IFHP Congress 2012, which will focus on these urgent and contemporar
y issues. On September 16-19, 2012 the City of Gothenburg will host the 56th IFHP World Congress. The Congress, which will bring together hundreds of delegates from all around the world, will be held at the Clarion Hotel Post, which will open in January 2012. The 56th IFHP World Congress aims to develop an understanding of different levels of urban development from several perspectives: the immediate environment, the city as a totality and cities on a global level. The main focus will be on social sustainability and the overall theme will be The Inclusive City in a Global World. IFHP - The International Federation for Housing and Planning is a world-wide network of professional institutions and individuals of many signatures active in the broad fields of housing, urban development and planning. With a main focus on sustainable development, the Federation organises a wide range of activities and creates opportunities for the international exchange of knowledge and experience in these professional fields.
