The first ICEHOTEL, 37 years ago.

Born from an idea by Yngve Bergqvist, it took shape on the frozen Torne River, just by the old homestead in Jukkasjärvi. What started as an experiment in ice and snow became the beginning of a story that has been rebuilt every winter since.
