Welcome to SwedishCountryLiving®

Our ambition is to offer products and experiences that promote the good life. Living here in the beautiful countryside of Dalsland gives us lots of inspiration we’d like to share with others. Inspiration gathered from the amazing rural environments found in the Swedish countryside. Our sheep on our ecological farm do a great job in keeping the landscape open as w

ell as providing us with meat and wonderful sheepskins. Stay in one of the off-grid hermitage cabins and enjoy good food from the farm. The original Skipper’s cottage rebuilt in 1870 can be rented for a relaxing holiday. Only 100m to the water with both fishing and swimming possibilities and with fantastic surroundings - we think you'll love it. Make life a little more enjoyable - Welcome to the good life! Marie & David Naraine

Mitt i denna otroligt vackra miljön.

Have you heard of the Pyramid trellis?

The pyramid shape (obelisk) arrived via the Baroque garden movement in France during the 17th and 18th centuries.

Swedes perfected the art of painting these structures with Falu Rödfärg (red) or linseed oil paint to withstand the harsh freeze-thaw cycles.

By leaning wooden poles together in a cone or pyramid shape, they maximized small garden plots for peas and beans. Thus becoming a Bean Pyramid!

The older you get, the more you realise life is not endless.
You can keep things as they are — or you can choose to create something meaningful. Something that leaves the world a little better than you found it.
Sharing our Hermitage cabins is our way of sharing a dream about what life could be about.
More time for each other.
More time in nature.
Food grown close to where it is served.
A slower rhythm.
A deeper understanding of how everything in nature is connected.
Perhaps luxury is not about having more — but about feeling more.
Come and join us on the journey.

Happy Norwegian National Day 🇳🇴✨

Today we are celebrating 17th of May in Norway together with dear friends — surrounded by music, flags, laughter, and the beautiful traditions that make this day so special.

One of the most inspiring parts of the celebration is seeing the traditional Norwegian costumes, the bunad. Each bunad tells a story of heritage, craftsmanship, and regional identity, often passed down through generations. The intricate embroidery, silver details, rich fabrics, and colors reflect Norway’s history and the pride people carry for their local traditions.

There is something truly timeless and elegant about seeing entire families dressed in bunads while gathering to celebrate community, freedom, and culture together.

Grateful to experience this beautiful national day in such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Gratulerer med dagen! ❤️🤍💙

Thank you to everyone who visited us at Nuntorp this weekend.
So many great conversations about wool, grazing animals and the landscapes they help keep alive.

Every fleece from our sheep carries a story — from biodiversity-rich pastures to natural products with new purpose.
Without grazing animals, many of our open meadows, wildflowers and pollinators would disappear.

Thank you for supporting Swedish wool, local farming and living landscapes. 🤍🐑
