What to do while staying with us on a rainy day?
Enjoy the silent company of a good book or a round of board games while listening to the nature around you. Dripping rain, singing birds, roaring foxes… You’ll be surprised how much interesting things are going on in the forest:) However, many of our guests are telling us that the best part of their stay is the opportunity to hang out and have long conversations without any interruption. On rainy days, this is probably even more true as it’s easy to spend the whole day under the warm duvet.

It feels like we have had all the seasons during the last couple of days… but in the tent it is still safe and sound, no matter how strong the wind blows and how hard the rain patters against the canvas. Today, however, the sun is out again. And just like that, the magic is back.

After five years of sun, rain and thunderstorms our tent was pretty worn out. Yesterday we unpacked a brand new edition, and it’s lovely to view the branch silhouettes on a totally clean canvas. Rosa, who seems to have been born service-minded, was of course eager to help with everything from opening packages to drawing zippers and cleaning the carpets.

Five years into our glamping adventure we are finally starting to find a balance between hosting and relaxing during the summer months. Actually, since Rosa joined the family last year, we are reminded of the need for balance every single day. Kids teach us the most important things by just being. Me and Rosa took a little nap in the tent while cleaning up after tonight’s guests. It’s extremely humid outside so the tent is a perfect hide-away in the shadow under the trees. We can hear the thunder roaring a few miles away, while tiny raindrops are gently tapping on the canvas ceiling. No need for music or conversation. Just a perfect opportunity to be in the present.

Let’s create something unique and bring people closer to nature!

It started on a birthday surprise trip to Denmark in April 2019. Well, there was a lot of dreaming long before that, but during this stay our ideas started to fall into place and we arrived back home filled with inspiration and determination to create something unique.

In September 2018 we bought our dream house on the countryside outside of Halmstad. The garden was huge and we knew from the start that we wanted to use this space to invite other people to enjoy this beautiful place. We just weren’t sure how to do it.

There was a guest house on the yard already, but our motivation didn’t kick in by the thought of renovating it as we wanted to do something different. Guest houses are for rent all over Halmstad. We didn’t have time or money to build something new from scratch either, so the options were limited. Pretty early on we also realised that out location in the middle of the forest but very close to the beach is what makes our place magical. We wanted to invite people to enjoy the nature experience and wild life that has become everyday life for us, but that is very exotic for people in the city.

Since one of us had lived abroad for many years, we were familiar with the glamping phenomena and it was the kind of accomodation we would appreciate while going away for the weekend. Something that is not only about sleeping, but about having an experience to remember.
