Haddis Alemayehu, known as “The Masinqo Rockstar”, is an award-winning musician from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, celebrated for his mastery of the traditional one-stringed masinqo. Fresh off an AFRIMA Award and with performances including the Nobel Prize Ceremony, Haddis has become an international ambassador for Ethiopian music.

His collaboration with Marcus Price began at the Addis Jazz Festival in February 2026. Together, they explore new musical territory by blending traditional Ethiopian sounds with Marcus Price’s distinctive fusion of Swedish folk music and American club culture.

Our summer menu is in full swing! When our vendors get in new produce at the peak of its season, our Head Chef Henrik Wahlberg can’t resist creating new dishes to debut. The theme, however, remains the same: hot off the wood-fired grill, fresh from some of Sweden’s finest purveyors, and exactly what you’re craving on a perfect summer’s day.

Next week, our upstairs kitchen will be buzzing and full of incredible aromatics. The Masque x Matsalen residency starts on Wednesday and the response has been overwhelming—so much so that we’ve added an extra six-course lunch service on Saturday, July 4. Join us for this incredible opportunity to discover the intersection between fine Indian cuisine and Nordic produce with guest Chefs Varun Totlani and Viktor Westerlind. Look closely—a few more slots throughout the whole two-week residency have been added, including a later seating at 21.30 and tables for parties of 5-7. We look forward to welcoming you!
