Hej hej!
I’m Johanna from Germany 🇩🇪 and I’ve been travelling through Scandinavia by car for the past one and a half months.

Somehow, I ended up on this beautiful farm, where I met Mona and Yannik. I originally planned to stay for just a few days and then continue my journey back to Germany. But Mona was looking for someone to take over the farm for a few weeks while she works in Germany.

And that’s how I suddenly ended up running a farm in Sweden! 🇸🇪🐴🚜🐄🐓🐇🦆🐎

Who could say no to spending more than a month in the Swedish countryside, surrounded by animals and a garden full of fresh produce? 🌿

Running the farm means much more than just taking care of the animals. We also have three holiday homes and a campsite with sanitary facilities.

A typical day starts at 7 a.m. with feeding the chickens, rabbits and ducks, giving them fresh water and letting them out into the garden.

Then it’s time for little Pauline, our calf, who currently needs warm milk from a bottle. 🐄❤️

Throughout the day, there are many different tasks: checking the animals’ water, cleaning the campsite facilities, preparing the holiday homes for new guests, taking care of the garden and farm shop, removing weeds, creating new pastures, doing laundry and giving pony rides to guests. 🐴🌱

In the afternoon and evening, the animals need to be taken care of again, brought safely into their nighttime shelters and fed. The greenhouse gets closed for the night and, of course, Pauline gets her warm milk.

You learn something new every day – and there is still so much more to do that it simply wouldn’t fit into one post. 🌿🐄🇸🇪

We have some exciting news to share! 🛶

From now on, you can rent our two canoes, including the trailer, at Humlereds Gård. We love exploring the beautiful Swedish nature from the water and wanted to give our guests the chance to experience it too. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing paddle with family or friends, a peaceful moment on the lake, or a chance to go fishing it’s a wonderful way to discover Sweden from a different perspective.
