Sunday = qualtity day ☀️🐾 a forest adventure with our smallest

01/08/2026

Every dog deserves the best care—not only when they are at their strongest, but especially when they need it most. ❤️🐾

Our athletes can get sick, suffer an injury, or simply need a quiet place to rest and recover. That’s why we have a dedicated recovery area with a separate kennel and a cozy indoor cabin where they can stretch out, stay dry, and feel safe.

After surgery, many dogs need to wear a cone. Having an indoor space is so important because it allows them to move around comfortably, even while wearing it. We also check on them several times a day, and whenever possible, we take the cone off for a few extra cuddles and some well-deserved love. 🥹

During the winter months, we can turn on the heater to provide a little extra warmth, helping them recover in comfort.

This little cabin has another very special purpose—it also becomes our maternity home for expecting mothers. Over the years, many beautiful puppies have taken their very first breaths right here. 🐶💕

Caring for our dogs means being there for them every step of the way—from their first day in the world to every challenge they may face throughout their lives. ❤️🐾

Summer Free Run Time 🐾💚

Every morning starts with breakfast—but the moment our dogs look forward to most comes right after.

While we clean the kennels, it’s free run time! ✨

The dogs get to go outside, either in carefully matched pairs or small groups. They run, sniff, play, explore, make friends, and simply enjoy being dogs. 🐕🌿

And if that’s still not enough? The adventure continues in our forest run. 🌳🐾

People often ask why our dogs are so calm during visits or during the day. The answer is simple: they get the freedom to be dogs, followed by the rest they deserve.

That’s why all the excitement happens in the morning, leaving the rest of the day for peaceful naps, relaxation, and recharging. Because a happy dog isn’t just one who runs—it’s one who knows how to rest, too. ❤️

🌙 Evening feeding time! 🐾

Every evening, our dogs are fed high-quality dry food. We’ve chosen Pow because it provides the nutrition our dogs need—and they absolutely love it! .se

We rotate between different recipes throughout the year, allowing us to adapt their diet to the changing seasons and each dog’s individual needs.

Since most of our dogs prefer to eat their kibble dry, we always make sure they have access to plenty of fresh, clean water.

A balanced diet, fresh water, and happy dogs—that’s what every evening is all about. 💛🐺

After an inspiring conversation with a like-minded person, I realized that I want to be even more transparent with everyone who is interested and guests. 💛

I’d love to take you behind the scenes, show you how we care for our dogs, and share what our daily routines look like.

Today, I’m starting with one of the most important topics: feeding our dogs.🍖🥩🍗

Our dogs are fed twice a day. In the morning, they enjoy fresh food, and in the evening, they get high-quality dry food.

Our fresh food comes once a month from a wonderful Swedish family business, 💛 💛. We store it in a large freezer and thaw it throughout the day. Mixed with plenty of water, it turns into a delicious soup that our dogs absolutely love.

We’ve chosen to keep their diet consistent throughout the year. Instead of changing the food itself, we simply adjust the portion sizes or switch the type of dry food depending on the season and their individual needs.

I’m excited to share more of our daily life with you in the coming weeks. 🐾

🐾 Meet Our Alaskan Huskies 🐾

Our pack is the heart of everything we do. ❤️

We are proud to share our lives with 45 Alaskan Huskies, each with their own unique personality, but all united by their love of running, teamwork, and spending time with people.

Our dogs are more than working dogs—they are family. Their health, happiness, and well-being always come first.

During the summer months, our huskies live in spacious kennels with plenty of room to relax. Every day they enjoy free time to play, socialize, and explore, either in our large exercise areas or in our 250 m² forest enclosure, where they can run freely, dig, sniff, and simply be dogs.

As soon as the temperatures begin to cool in autumn, we gradually start training again. The dogs eagerly return to the trails, building their fitness and excitement for the upcoming sledding season. By the time winter arrives, they are ready to do what they love most—running through the snowy forests of Swedish Lapland.

Every adventure with our guests is made possible by their incredible enthusiasm, strength, and trust. Once you meet them, you’ll understand why they steal so many hearts. ❄️🐺

A team. A family. A way of life.

Meet Your Hosts – Bruno & Birgit

In 1997, Birgit Homburg and Bruno Spett fulfilled their dream of creating a husky and reindeer farm in the small village of Merasjärvi, Swedish Lapland.

Birgit first fell in love with Scandinavia while travelling through the Nordic countries in the 1980s. Inspired by the region’s untouched wilderness, she decided to settle in Lapland in 1988. Bruno was born and raised in Merasjärvi and still lives in his family home, deeply connected to the land and its traditions.

Together, they built their farm with great passion, offering neglected dogs a second chance and a loving home. Today, Bruno and Birgit are delighted to share their love for Lapland, their animals, and the unique Arctic way of life with guests from around the world.
