Issue 02 of The Maxwell Collection explores a historic Sanad conferring the title of Raja as a personal distinction upon Baba Sir Gurbakhsh Singh Bedi, son of the influential Baba Sir Khem Singh Bedi and part of the direct lineage of Guru Nanak.

A prominent figure in Sikh history, Baba Sir Khem Singh Bedi played an important role in the religious and public life of his time, with his son continuing the Bedi family’s distinguished legacy. Both father and son received recognition for their contributions and were knighted during their lifetimes.

Preserved today as part of the Bedi family collection, the Sanad offers a glimpse into a remarkable history carried across generations.
