TMS FEATURES | THE OBSERVATORY: REFUSE

In 𝘙𝘌𝘍𝘜𝘚𝘌, The Observatory () explores bio-sonification — using motors and sensors to bring the bio-rhythms of fungi to life, deriving music from mycelium and mushrooms.

The exhibition held at the new SAM at Tanjong Pagar Distripark combines mycology design (), scenography installation (Sai aka Chen Sai Hua Kuan), archive arrangement (Ujikaji), moving image (Yeo Siew Hua), and guest curation (Tang Fu Kuen)

As part of the presentation, a time-based installation space and an archive are presented, outlining The Observatory's constantly evolving methodologies, the communities that surround them, as well as their significant role in Singapore's music scene.

offers perfectly crafted, guilt-free artisanal treats that combine the goodness of dark chocolate with all-natural ingredients for a luxurious, melt-in-the-mouth consistency, complemented by the crunch of nuts, curated flavors, and the natural sweetness of dried fruits.

They are best known for their "Bark in the Dark" range that features thick and luxurious slabs of 74% Dark Chocolate complemented by a delicious range of roasted nuts, dried fruits, and other natural ingredients.

Dark chocolate can also be substituted for milk chocolate or white chocolate, and each slab is carefully handcrafted by chocolatier Ambika.

Meet Ray, a self-taught craftsman who began together with his wife and two daughters. His journey began with his fascination for resin art while watching videos on YouTube and went on to visit the US to be certified in epoxy resin.

Designed to bring ease and enjoyment to everyday life, each Hands Design piece celebrates the tradition of handcrafting in a way that's unique, decorative, and functional. A work of art and to be a helping hand is their mission. Through their craft, they hope to make a lasting impact on society and support those in need.

Topic No.6 is a collection of 8 surprise box sets - each containing an edible, a visual book, and a product that are connected to each distinct narrative represented by a phrase.

The Sunyata Hotel Meili in the rugged, awe-inspiring mountains of Yunnan province pays homage to the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi. Originally carved out of a Tibetan house tucked away in a remote hillside, the hotel took more than three years to renovate.

The hotel is filled with Tibetan references, from the three fireplaces to the Buddhist murals, salvaged doors to textured linens to the deep wooden window frames. With its aged walls, earthy aesthetic, and restrained décor, Sunyata is one of the best examples of wabi-sabi outside of Japan. Lighting, candles, handwoven blankets, and naturally dyed fabrics create a cozy atmosphere at the restaurant.
