Featuring our Executive Sous Chef Cheah Hun Leong, The Catch is a series produced by Trevor Cochrane and Guru Productions, where four Singaporean chefs are paired with four Western Australian chefs to embark on a culinary adventure through the diverse landscapes of Western Australia.⁣

In this episode, Chef Leong and his co-explorer, Chef Alejandro Saravia, travelled to Willie Creek, home to one of the world’s most renowned pearl farms. Tasked with harvesting their own pearl oysters, the duo overcame limited visibility, strong currents, and encounters with marine wildlife for a truly unforgettable experience.⁣

As we revisited our archives, we uncovered this booklet from 1999, commemorating the launch of The Pacific Ballroom at Pan Pacific Singapore. Described then as “Magnifique”, the ballroom was designed to host up to 750 seated or 1,200 standing guests, featuring floor-to-ceiling glass windows, natural light, and design accents inspired by water and waves, reflecting a tropical Pacific spirit.⁣

Today, our Pacific Ballroom upholds this legacy as a venue for hosting elegant weddings, conferences, and large-scale occasions in Singapore. Accommodating up to 800 guests, the ballroom features a spacious foyer with driveway access, alongside its signature honeycomb ceiling and amber crystal ellipse chandeliers.⁣

We are delighted to share that the first episode of The Catch premiered last night, 2 June 2026, on MediaCorp Channel 5!⁣

Featuring our very own Executive Sous Chef, Chef Cheah Hun Leong, The Catch is a culinary adventure series produced by Trevor Cochrane and his team at Guru Productions, where four Singaporean chefs were paired with four Western Australian chefs. Together, they embarked on a culinary adventure to Perth, tackling challenges to catch their own produce, and discovering some of the finest ingredients along the way. ⁣

For Chef Leong, it was an opportunity to explore Western Australia’s ingredients, exchange ideas with fellow chefs, and celebrate the universal language of food.⁣
