Our Story

Hidden from the urban jungle, the towering trees of Labrador Nature Reserve part to reveal a sanctuary of heritage, nature and rustic-luxury. Set within a heritage colonial garrison that dates back to the 1920s, Villa Samadhi is a tribute to the colonial charm of yesteryear – a joyous assembly of aesthetic and pragmatic designs that complement the tropical surroundings beautifully.

A deep respect for sense of place and an appreciation of aesthetic deign inspired the owners to create not only a living space that celebrates the history of a building, but also one that endorses a way of life within its existing tapestry. At Villa Samadhi, guests will find timber restored from abandoned ‘kampung’ (village) houses, bamboo, and natural materials sourced from the indigenous Orang Asli. Artisanal crafts are valued, and colourful Southeast Asian hill tribe artwork, Indochinese artifacts, and old Chinese furniture adorn the interiors.

Set against the signature backdrop of terraced corridors, shuttered windows and lofty ceilings, retreat into an oasis of tranquility at Villa Samadhi.
