Nastja and her Beaver Shepherd’s Hut are two exquisite jewels. From booking through departure, Nastja was welcoming, informative and very, very helpful. She truly goes above and beyond. Her recommendation of Gostilna Ribič In Ptuj led us to one of the best seafood meals we have had anywhere. The John Dory was cooked to perfection and the local area white wines a perfect complement. Shepherd’s Hut was our base for a 10 mile hike in Croatia and a visit to the Ducal Vineyard and Winery nestled against the Austrian border — wonderful adventures both. Shepherd’s Hut is so much more. The Hut itself is so cozy and we slept the sleep of the dead. The sounds of nature bid us good night and welcomed the morning. The stand-alone shower has inexhaustible on-demand hot water and presents incredible views of the River Drava and adjacent flood plain. The spacious A-frame kitchen and deck provide adjacent views; a wonderful setting for preparing and enjoying the farm-fresh eggs from Nastja’s chickens
