As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, The Family Kingdom Resort team provides Capoeira training every other day to the children of the Aberdeen Community. Our class, currently, consists of 12 very enthusiastic and talented children.
We meet every other day on Lumley Beach, facing the Family Kingdom Resort at 17:00-17:30 for 1-2 hour sessions.
We encourage expatriates and locals alike to participate in this project, and hope to widen the Capoeira community so it may function in a more sustainable way.
We do accept donations that will go into a fund to provide the children with:
- Capoeira pants and shirts
- Berimbau's that they will learn how to make by hand
- Assembling or buying other key Capoeira instruments (Atabaque, Pandeiro, Agogo, etc...)
- A solid sound system that we can use during training
- Meals for the children provided at least twice a week + water for every practice
Our main goal is to form a Capoeira community in Sierra Leone, a means to unite the voices of Sierra Leone and empower the community.
So come join us tomorrow 26th of May 2018 @ 17:30 to Lumley Beach facing Family Kingdom for a blast!
PS: If you have Capoeira experience that would be very desirable. Our expertise is limited to some extent, but we view it as a means to learn from each other and empower one another.
Hope to see you there tomorrow!! AXร
