THE SURF:
El Salvador is known for the long righthand points making it a top destination for regularfooters who are looking to catch the ride of a lifetime and goofyfooters who want to work on the backhand skills. The ideal swell direction is S-SW and breaks year round with double - triple overhead head waves often during the winter season (May-October). The main and most famous wave in the countr

y is PUNTA ROCA in the town of La Libertad (5 min drive from El Tunco). This world class wave peels fast and perfect over shallow black boulders with hollow tubes and speed sections. LA BOCANA shapes the sand of Rio Grande into powerful hollow lefts and short rights. You can surf this spot out in front of Tortuga Surf Lodge. SUNZAL (across the beach) is a very consistent right hand point with a mellow wave and long paddle. It can produce fun walls and holds any size of swell. It is a popular place for beginners and longboarders. LOCATION:
Tortuga Surf Lodge is located in Playa El Tunco, La Libertad. 20 min from the International Airport and 35 min from San Salvador. ABOUT US:
You can chill out in our swimming pool or enjoy cold drinks from our bar after surfing either La Bocana or El Sunzal. Relax in a hammock under the palm trees or enjoy our beachfront view and go for a swim in the ocean. Wake up and watch the sunrise with a fresh cup of coffee checking out the sets roll in or have a cold beer or smoothie watching the sunset colors.

**WEEKEND POLICY**
We have a "First Come First Serve" policy on reservations during Saturdays and Sundays. Bookings and reservations will be made and paid in full upon arrival of guests if rooms are available. TRANSFERS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST
We can arrange transportation to-from the airport and other surfspots in the area. Contact us for more information.
