Brussels Part 3. more details of the Victor Horta Museum visit. Surprisingly popular so we had to make a reservation well in advance. I particularly liked the urinal in a hidden cupboard. There are 2 adjacent buildings forming the museum. On one side was his residence and the other his offices over 4 levels with some strategical interconnections on certain levels. The shylight over the open staircase was partpeffective

Brussels Part 2. High on my bucket list has been a visit to the Victoria Horta house and museum in Brussels and we finally made it. The reason for my interest in this architect is that he almost single handily conjured up the architectural style of Art Nouveau. I wrote my masters thesis on the Art Nouveau of Aalesund Norway, my home town. Maybe some of you have seen my postings from this town last August from our visit there.

Arrived in Brussels on the National day so took a very long time to get to the hotel from the railway station as most roads were closed. A very grey day spent exploring mostly on foot

Belated posting from our visit to Maastricht. Something went wrong with the original post. A fabulous first visit to a most charming city and seeing friends who live there for a visit to the Dutch American war cemetery close to their house and a local winery for refreshments. The others in our party enjoyed Andre Rieu in concert with guests in a chilling outdoor performance
