A new generation discovering squash in Koh Samui.

The relaunch of the Maraleina Thai Squash Program marked more than the return of a programme. It opened the door for selected Thai students to experience squash through professional coaching, structured development and access to the sport at no cost.

And this first session became even more special with Joey Barrington, former world No. 24 and widely known as the Voice of Squash, joining the children on court and sharing his experience, energy and passion for the game.

Fully sponsored by Maraleina Sports Resort, the programme is designed to make squash more accessible, identify young talent and create new opportunities for the next generation of Thai players.

Squash Clinic with Joey Barrington at Maraleina Sports Resort.

It was a privilege to welcome Joey, a highly respected figure in the squash community, to our courts for a special series of adult and junior sessions.

Throughout the clinic, participants had the opportunity to learn from his experience, working on areas such as anticipation, perception, movement, technical drills and tactical decision-making.

Opportunities like this allow our players to gain new perspectives on the game and learn directly from someone with extensive knowledge and experience in squash.

Thank you, Joey, for spending time with our squash community and for sharing your knowledge with us.

มิก้า ชูนวลศรี รองประธานสโมสร สมุย ยูไนเต็ด โพสต์ข้อความขอบคุณ การท่าเรือ เอฟซี ที่เดินทางลงใต้มาเก็บตัวและเตะอุ่นเครื่องกับ สมุย ยูไนเต็ด เมื่อวันเสาร์ที่ผ่านมา ก่อนจะเป็นฝ่ายเอาชนะเจ้าถิ่นไปด้วยสกอร์ 2-0

แม้ผลการแข่งขันจะจบลงด้วยชัยชนะของทีมจากไทยลีก แต่สิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นตลอดช่วงเวลาที่ การท่าเรือ เอฟซี เดินทางมาเกาะสมุย กลับมีความหมายมากกว่าตัวเลขบนสกอร์บอร์ด

การได้เห็นทีมระดับประเทศเดินทางมาอุ่นเครื่องถึงเกาะสมุย ช่วยสร้างสีสันและปลุกกระแสฟุตบอลในพื้นที่ได้อย่างชัดเจน โดยมีแฟนบอลเข้ามาชมเกมกันอย่างหนาตา กลายเป็นอีกหนึ่งค่ำคืนที่ฟุตบอลบนเกาะสมุยกลับมามีชีวิตชีวา

การอุ่นเครื่องครั้งนี้จึงเป็นมากกว่าเกมเตรียมทีมของทั้งสองสโมสร เพราะสำหรับ สมุย ยูไนเต็ด นี่คือโอกาสสำคัญในการได้สัมผัสเกมกับทีมระดับท็อปของประเทศ ขณะที่แฟนบอลในพื้นที่ก็ได้มีโอกาสชมฟุตบอลคุณภาพใกล้บ้าน

👕 นอกจากนี้ เกมดังกล่าวยังเป็นอีกหนึ่งช่วงเวลาสำคัญของ สมุย ยูไนเต็ด เมื่อสโมสรได้ถือโอกาสประเดิมชุดแข่งขันใหม่ที่จะใช้ในฤดูกาล 2026/27 ต่อหน้าแฟนบอลอีกด้วย

ซึ่ง มิก้า ได้เผยว่า วันเดียว...ขายเสื้อใหม่ได้เกือบ 800 ตัวเลยทีเดียว 👍
