PHUKET, Thailand, Oct 4 (Reuters) - The US aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush ​arrived in Thailand's resort island of Phuket on Sunday ‌with about 4,800 personnel aboard for a rest-and-recreation break after six months supporting US operations in the Middle East.

🇺🇸⚓ Phuket is set to welcome two major US Navy warships from October 4–9, 2026.
The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George H.W. Bush and guided-missile destroyer USS Delbert D. Black are scheduled to make a port call at Phuket Deep Sea Port in Wichit.
The aircraft carrier will bring around 4,800 sailors and air wing personnel, while approximately 320 personnel will arrive aboard the destroyer — more than 5,000 in total.
At 333 metres long, the USS George H.W. Bush is a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier capable of accommodating around 90 aircraft.
During the five-day visit, thousands of US Navy personnel will have the opportunity to spend time ashore in Phuket.
