Karon Sea Sands Resort & Spa opened in Dec 2003. What was before marshland was then turned to this award winning resort. The original project was around 250 small rooms, but we then revamped the whole project and came out with what you see now. In the 2nd year of our running, on the 26th of Dec 2004, we had the terrible earthquake and the big Tsunami after. We were lucky the resort was spared with only about 30cms of water at the parking lot, killing the young trees, but did no damage to the resort at all. But afterwards, the whole of Phuket was almost like a ghost town with no guests at all. We did not release or fire any of our staff, but of course we all suffered from the lack of business. Slowly things came back to normal and more guests became our repeating guests, keeping us in a happy atmosphere and making sure that we keep to our high standards. In the following years we received several awards. Our awards include winning the 2nd prize 3 years in a row from TUI Nordic and Travellers Choice for 2011 - 2016 Family resort awards from Trip Advisor. Also we have been consistently in the top 3 hotels for Aurinko Matkat for the whole of Phuket. We opened our 2nd restaurant the Navrang Mahal in the resort a few years ago. We now hold an Indian Curry Night every Friday with an “all you can eat buffet for Baht 499, which is very well received. Some of our items include: Mutton Vindaloo; Garlic Naan ; Butter chicken ; Vegetable samosas ; Chicken Tandoori ; Fish Amritseri ; Pao Bhaji and many more dishes.
