Need to know before riding here for your safety.
🚨 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁! 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗞𝗼𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗼: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄 🛵⚠️
🏝️Koh Tao is incredibly beautiful, but its roads aren't always friendly. Before you decide to rent a scooter, please ask yourself if you’re truly confident in your riding skills.
• 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗳𝗹𝗮𝘁: Most of the island consists of steep hills. Flat areas are limited, and roads are often covered in sand and gravel, which can cause your bike to slide easily.
• 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀: The area around Mae Haad Pier is a One-Way system. Never drive against the flow! Don’t just follow others who break the rules—it’s extremely dangerous.
• 𝗔𝘃𝗼𝗶𝗱 𝗥𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝗿: Between 09:00 – 10:00 AM and 03:00 – 06:00 PM, traffic is very heavy. Especially from Sairee Intersection to the Roasted Duck restaurant, tourists often walk all over the road. Please stay calm and give way to pedestrians.
• 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘁-𝗟𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: The roads leading to Tanote Bay, Hin Wong Bay, Aow Leuk, Sai Daeng Beach, and Sai Nuan Beach are extremely steep. If you aren't an experienced rider, don’t risk it!
❌ 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿: If you are not a skilled rider and an accident occurs, there is no one to blame but yourself.
✅ 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀: Use the local taxi service or simply "Walk" if the distance isn't too far. It’s safer and you get to enjoy the view!
Have a wonderful trip and go home with great memories, not scars! 💙 Thank you for your responsible traveler 🙏
