Pua Tranquil Vista Homestay has been providing superior accommodation, breakfast and guest experiences to northern Nan province travelers since 2019. We have two large air-conditioned guestrooms, each with a private bathroom and television. We host groups of up to eight (8) guests and only accept one group at a time. The guestrooms, a guest only living and dining room with kitchenette and terrace
with views of mountains, valleys, villages and rice fields are all on level 2. There is seating on the terrace for guests to relax and we often serve breakfast there for smaller groups. In the living room there are sofas, a television, sound system, kitchenette, dining area, local maps, free drinking water, tea, coffee, milk and ice. We also have for sale savoury snacks and a range of local beers, soda water and soft drinks. There are no nearby properties so guests may party in the living room and terrace into the night. Our breakfasts include a fresh cut fruit platter and fresh ground coffee, English, green or jasmine tea. Some of our breakfasts feature our own made bread or baguette served hot from the oven. When booking a room with breakfast an afternoon tea featuring our own made bakery sweet treat and premium teas and coffee is also included. Infants 0-2 years stay for free, we discount children 3-12 years 50 baht per night and any group with a returning guest gets a 10% discount on the room rates. We have secure covered parking, free Wi-Fi with broadband internet and four mountain bikes for guests to explore the local area. We are dog and cat friendly (refer Services). Smoking is not permitted in the homestay building however there is an undercover smoking area available. We are ideally placed for travelers to explore the national parks, waterfalls, viewpoints, rainforests, temples and cultures of northern Nan province. Our owner/host is a Thai ex-nurse and lives onsite. She is dedicated to making your stay comfortable and memorable. We have excellent guest review scores across a range of online sites with guests frequently commenting on our customer service, cleanliness, quality, food and view. We have decided to provide guests choosing either a continental or sausages breakfast the option to pick and choose individual items from each breakfast to make their own breakfast. Guests may select any or all muesli, Greek yogurt, freshly baked bread, butter and spreads, eggs, chicken or pork sausages. Our bread choices are white, wholewheat and fruit bread and white or wholewheat baguettes. We make our own breads and baguettes and they are served still warm from the oven. Pua Tranquil Vista Homestay provides superior boutique accommodation and breakfast experience for travelers to northern Nan province. We opened in August 2019 in our newly built home and will operate year round. Touring motor cyclists are particularly welcome. Undercover parking for up to four cars or multiple motor cycles is available under the carport attached to the house. Access to the house is direct from the carport, a bonus in the wet season. A bike wash facility adjoins the carport.
We are six kilometers to the east of Pua on a low ridge that comes down from the Luang Prabang mountains. We are on road number 1371 that connects roads 1256 (Pua-Bo Kluea) and 1081 (Pua-Santi Suk). GPS coordinates are 19.162580, 100.950381.
Three air-conditioned guest rooms each with own ensuite bathroom are available. The Rain Room on level 1 is a small room with a double bed. The Sunset Room on level 2 is a large room with a king bed. This room has a large writing desk and chest of drawers and would be the best room for longer stay guests. The Sunrise Room also on level 2 is a large room with a king bed and single bed. We can set up three additional futon style temporary beds, up to two in either of these level 2 guest rooms if needed making a total capacity of ten (10) guests.
Our standard rates are 1,000 baht per night for 1-2 pax in the Rain guest room, 1,200 baht per night for 1-2 pax in the level 2 Sunrise or Sunset guest rooms, and 300 baht per night for a third guest in the Sunrise guest room using the single bed. A guest using a temporary bed in either of the level 2 guest rooms is 300 baht. Special rates apply for children depending on age and bed requirement. All rates include breakfast. A deposit of 50% is required to firm the booking. Payment options are bank transfer and cash.
We post updated rates and special towards the end of each month. We also have early booker rates, non-refundable rates and extended stay rates.
The living room on level 2 is for the exclusive use of our guests and is equipped with a kitchenette, showcase refrigerator, dining table for six, lounges for six, sound system, a 55” television with 100+ international and local channels, books, binoculars, playing cards and games sets. Free Wi-Fi with broadband internet access is provided. The kitchenette is stocked with complimentary tea and coffee supplies that may be enjoyed by our guests at any time.
The Sunrise, Sunset and living rooms all open onto a full length covered deck with seating for ten. Guests can take in the views to the north of the Luang Prabang mountains and Yo River valley. On a clear day there is a view across the whole of the Nan River valley to the Phi Pan Nam mountains near the border with Laos.
On arrival and when they return each day we offer guests an afternoon tea featuring either homemade brownies and ice cream or homemade cookies and cream. Guests may choose to have this in the evening as a dessert.
Upon waking guests can enjoy tea and coffee from the kitchenette together with cut fresh fruit. Later a hot English style breakfast is served in the level 2 living room or balcony and consists of eggs, pork sausage, homemade potato cake, sauteed mushrooms, baked beans, thick toast and yogurt. Butter and a range of sweet and savoury spreads are available for the toast. We also have a hot Asian style breakfast and a light breakfast option.
Clothes can be washed, dried and folded onsite for a modest fee. Use of the bike wash facility is free. An outside BBQ, tables and chairs are for guests. Guest rooms are tidied daily. Bath towels/mats/etc are changed daily. Bed linen will be changed every third day for longer stay guests. Check-in from 3:00pm, check-out by 11:00am.
No pets are allowed. Smoking is permitted on the property but not in or near the house. Responsible consumption of alcohol is permitted. We sell beer and soft drinks but guests may bring their own. Illicit drugs or other illegal activity will not be tolerated. Non-residential visitors to the property requires owner agreement.
