Front / Host — Tamni 🌿

Being a host here isn’t just greeting people.
And hospitality isn’t about being nice all the time.

It’s noticing.
/ who walked in
/ what they might need — or not

Sometimes a smile.
Sometimes space.
Sometimes just being there.

Not for people
who need everything clear,
or structured.

You learn from small things.
Over time.

Attention over perfection /

You’ll need Thai and English.
Nothing complicated, but it comes up.

We usually just meet first.
Then see how it goes.

Front / Host — Tamni 🌿

Not everyone arrives the same way.

Some walk in open.
Some guarded.
Some pretending they’re fine.

You won’t answer it with words.
You answer it with how you stand,
how you look up,
how you hold the room.

Some shifts are slow enough to hear the air.
Some move fast.
Either way, you stay steady.

Attention matters more 🫧

At Tamni, we have focaccia at the breakfast station—homemade by team and sent to us by .exp

It’s not factory bread. You can tell right away from the aroma, the crust, and the small imperfections that quietly say: made by real hands.

Pang shared something simple but important: the way forward isn’t more force—it’s stop and rest.
When the dough rests, tension releases. Water redistributes. Gluten reorganizes. The dough becomes elastic again—so the next fold works better, building an even stronger structure. Like muscles lifting heavier after recovery.
He also uses poolish—a slow pre-ferment that lets yeast work ahead of time—bringing deeper flavor and that distinct natural-yeast note.

Things are done
without asking to be seen.

Some hands were here
before there were rooms.

Time moves quietly.
Days begin.
Days end.

People move on.
That’s normal.

Thank you
for being here.

ကျေးဇူးတင်ပါတယ်။

Not polished.
Almost professional.

Things don’t move in straight lines here.
They move the way people do — with pauses, mistakes, and moments that land right.

Less performance.
More attention.

Nothing here has to be perfect. What matters is showing up, even when things are a little messy.

Somewhere between guests and us—
between care and being cared for,
between order and imperfection—
black and white
becomes color. 🌿

“I’ve always thinking about creating something in my mind.”
He said it with a calm that doesn’t need convincing.

Htet comes from Myanmar — once an engineering student, now a self-taught painter who learned from online classes, free resources, and borrowed time.
He doesn’t have the luxury to romanticise despair. Painting is his way to bring clarity to the mind. His practice is stoic— calm, deliberate, steady. Every day he trains himself to mix colours until each tone feels right, believing that when the colours flow, the paintings will too.
The colour of his world isn’t pastel or dreamy — it’s the colour of soil: grounded, alive, honest. No glitter, only a quiet glow of free will burning from within.
Time, for him, is sacred because it’s limited. “I like how people here take things slow — it feels peaceful,” he said, half-smiling, aware of how precious each second feels when survival isn’t promised.
He doesn’t chase illusions or search for meaning — he builds it, through labour, presence, and discipline.
His presence feels like medicine — resilient, rooted, alive.
He doesn’t try to free anything grand.
He just wants to live — simply and truthfully.
“I just want to simply living my life.”

Tamni Artist in Residence 2025 begins with Nati () — our first resident artist of the year 🌿
There’s something special about the air around her — time flows differently, like looking through a kaleidoscope.
She often wanders around Bangkok, collecting little glittery sparks along the way. Her rhythm of working feels alive and curious — shifting, connecting, transforming.
Her eyes sparkle when she creates, and you can tell she’s having fun.
I’ve seen many artists work here, but with Nati, it feels like glitter at the edge of your sight — scattered yet beautifully composed.
Born in Chile, studied Architecture, now based in Australia — her sense of structure and rhythm quietly shapes everything she makes.
Nati’s creative spirit is humorous, warm, and brave. She has this “just go for it” energy — never overthinking, simply making, laughing, and trying again. She values fun and organic connection more than perfection — and that joy naturally spreads to people around her.
Her work often begins with the body — the female form as both structure and language. Through art, she reclaims it: not as something to fix, but something to build from.
“For me, creation is an act of reclaiming,” she says. “I just want to create things I want to see.”
She’s searching for beauty — not the perfect kind, but the kind that grows from truth and imperfection.
Her aura and her works mirror each other: light-hearted, curious, always making.
“Collage” feels like the perfect word for her — fragments of humour, thought, and texture layered into something honest and full of life. ✨

📍 Tamni — somewhere near the station, a little off the map
🌞 08:00–17:00
🌑 16:30–01:30

You’re the start of someone’s story here.
You smile without force.
You notice when someone’s tired.
You don’t try to impress.
You try to understand.

You’re probably not right for this if:
– You need a checklist for everything
– You love uniforms
– You get bored when it’s too quiet

But maybe you’re right if:
– You’re kind in strange ways
– You speak both Thai and English (or at least try)
– You like people,
but don’t want to be “customer service”

🌿 Gaprao Zero-Waste

To our friends who stayed before—gaprao here? Or… out there.

Pad Thai made it big. Tom Yum went global. Gaprao stayed local— the dish for 1am, for bad days, for cheap happiness.

Zero-Waste Gaprao: wagyu scraps, ugly but honest. We trim sinew till our hands ache— annoying, meditative, weirdly human. The flavor? Deeper. Juicier.

Meat hits wok—BOOM. Basil burns—FSSHH. Egg crisp outside, soft heart inside. Rice—always clean, always hot.
No flowers. No lies. Not famous. Just real.

Small menu. Give a damn.

Artist Residency Open Call • July – October 2025
At Tamni , Bangkok

At Tamni, we don’t believe art needs to be loud
to be seen or perfect to be worth making.
We hold space for quiet stories, gentle chaos,
and the invisible threads that connect people through creativity.

This isn’t just a program.
It’s a pause.
A soft landing.
A corner of Bangkok where you can breathe, make,
and maybe begin again
alongside guests who come not just to stay,
but to create, feel, and connect.

We hope this place becomes more than
a bed for the night.
We’re not just hosting guests.
We’re slowly growing a place with the soul
of an art community.

one that welcomes exchange, expression,
and quiet inspiration from those who pass through.

🌿What you’ll find here
- A bed in our shared room (bunk style)
- Open creative space + gentle support for materials
- A wall, a room, or a moment to share your work
- A small home, for your big ideas

📬Rolling Admission
No deadline.
We review each application with care.
Even if you’re placed on the waitlist,
we’ll reach out when the time feels right.

Because sometimes, art just needs a place
— not a stage.
