The Sound of Silence

Why would anyone choose to stay beside a busy street—listening to traffic all night, feeling the occasional vibration of a heavy truck, and, if you’re lucky, hearing music drifting from a nearby pub?

There is another choice.

Just a few minutes from the energy and bustle of the city, you can retreat into a quiet neighbourhood where peace, calm and serenity become part of your everyday life.

Here, there are no traffic jams outside your window. No heavy trucks rumbling past in the middle of the night. Instead, you hear the gentle sounds of nature—and wake to the songs of birds.

And the remarkable thing is this:

The difference is less than 10 minutes.

Less than 10 minutes can take you from the noise and congestion of the city to a place where you can breathe, slow down and enjoy genuinely restorative sleep.

Our botanical garden is the lungs of this peaceful neighbourhood, surrounded by three of the largest parks in the area. Together, they create an extraordinary green sanctuary so close to Bangkok’s bustling city life, yet remarkably removed from its noise.

Imagine waking up, opening the curtains and seeing mist drifting through the garden, while rays of morning sunlight pierce through the trees.

This isn’t just about having a beautiful garden.

It’s about choosing better air, less noise, deeper sleep, birdsong in the morning—and a calmer way of living, without giving up the convenience of the city.

Sometimes, the best escape isn’t far away.

It’s less than 10 minutes from where you already are.

Meet one of the most charming residents of V20 Boutique Hotel’s Botanical Garden & Mini Zoo – the magnificent Buff Orpington. 🐔✨

Originating in England during the late 1800s, the Buff Orpington is one of the world’s most admired heritage chicken breeds. Instantly recognisable by its rich golden-buff feathers and soft, rounded appearance, it is often described as looking more like a fluffy ball of feathers than a chicken.

What truly makes this breed special is its exceptionally calm and friendly temperament. Buff Orpingtons are naturally curious, enjoy being around people, and are known for being one of the gentlest chicken breeds, making them a favourite with families and children.

Our hens roam freely through the botanical garden, foraging naturally among trees and flowering plants while contributing to a healthy garden ecosystem. They also reward us with delicious fresh organic brown eggs, which reflect our commitment to sustainability and fresh, natural ingredients.

Whether you’re enjoying breakfast, relaxing by the garden, or simply taking a peaceful walk around the hotel, don’t miss the chance to meet these beautiful birds. They are a reminder that even in the heart of Bangkok, nature can still surprise, inspire, and bring a smile.

At V20 Boutique Hotel, every stay is about more than just accommodation—it’s about experiencing a little oasis where nature, wildlife, and hospitality come together.

Every morning, as the first rays of sunlight filter through the canopy and mist drifts gently among the ferns, something extraordinary begins.

It isn’t just beautiful.

It may also be quietly influencing the way our bodies respond to stress.

Our botanical garden was created as more than a landscape. It is a peaceful sanctuary where guests can slow down, breathe deeply and reconnect with nature in the heart of Bangkok. During our guided 50-minute forest bathing sessions, the sounds of the city gradually fade, replaced by birdsong, flowing water and the calming rhythm of the forest.

The inspiration comes from Japan, where Shinrin-yoku, or “forest bathing,” has been studied for decades. Dr. Qing Li, a Japanese immunologist, spent more than 20 years researching how time spent among trees affects the human body.

Trees naturally release aromatic compounds called phytoncides. These compounds help protect trees from insects and harmful microbes. As we walk through a healthy forest, we inhale these natural molecules, and some are absorbed through our lungs.

Research has found that time spent in forests is associated with lower levels of stress hormones such as cortisol and adrenaline. Studies have also shown increased activity of natural killer (NK) cells, an important part of our immune system. Some of these changes remained measurable for several days after participants left the forest.

Scientists also remind us that forests are not a miracle cure. The benefits likely come from many factors working together—cleaner air, natural humidity, gentle movement, birdsong, greenery, cooler temperatures and the unique chemistry released by trees.

That is the experience we hope to share with every guest.

Sometimes wellness isn’t about adding another supplement or another treatment. Sometimes it begins by stepping into a quiet garden, slowing your pace and taking a deep breath.

Nature has been perfecting this environment for millions of years. We simply created a place where you can experience it.

Join us for a forest bathing session and discover the quiet power of nature.

There is a moment each morning that lasts only a few minutes.

As the first rays of sunlight break through the morning mist, the forest awakens. Ferns glisten with dew, birds begin their chorus, and for a brief moment, Bangkok feels a world away.

This magical sunrise is how our 50-minute Forest Bathing Session begins.

No phones.
No noise.
No rush.

Just you and nature.

Scientific research suggests that spending mindful time in a forest environment can help reduce stress, improve mood, restore mental clarity, and leave you feeling refreshed and energized. It isn’t exercise. It isn’t meditation. It is simply reconnecting with nature in the way humans have for thousands of years.

Hidden in the heart of Bangkok, this is a place where mist, filtered sunlight, towering tree ferns and tropical greenery create an experience unlike anywhere else in the city.

Start your day differently.

Breathe deeply.

Slow down.

Let nature restore you.

If you’d like to experience one of Bangkok’s most unique morning wellness rituals, send us a message to enquire about our upcoming Forest Bathing sessions.

Your day deserves a better beginning.

There is a quiet moment each morning when the world has not yet found its voice.

The first rays of sunlight gently filter through layers of green, never harsh, never demanding—only soft enough to paint the forest with countless beams of gold. As they meet the morning mist, each ray becomes visible, dancing silently between leaves and ferns as if nature itself were breathing.

Here, time seems to slow.

The air is cool, rich with the scent of damp earth, moss, and living trees. Every leaf holds a tiny droplet of water, reflecting light like countless little stars before the day begins. Birds greet the sunrise with melodies that need no audience, while the gentle whisper of moving leaves replaces the endless soundtrack of traffic and concrete.

In this sanctuary, there are no blaring horns, no crowded streets, no towering walls of glass. Only the quiet rhythm that has existed long before cities were built—the rhythm of water, wind, and growing things.

Science tells us that spending time surrounded by nature can calm the nervous system, reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and restore mental clarity. Yet long before research confirmed it, people simply understood that forests have a way of healing what words cannot.

Perhaps that is why a single peaceful morning beneath a canopy of green can feel more refreshing than an entire day spent chasing time. The mind becomes lighter. Breathing grows deeper. Thoughts become clearer. What seemed urgent yesterday quietly dissolves into the background.

This garden was created not merely as a collection of plants, but as a place where nature can gently remind us of something we often forget—that peace is not something we find after life slows down. Sometimes, peace is already waiting, hidden in the filtered sunlight, carried by cool mist, and resting beneath the leaves.

For a little while, allow yourself to step away from the noise, the pollution, and the endless rush of modern life. Listen instead to the silence of the forest. It asks for nothing, yet somehow gives us everything we need to begin the day with gratitude, balance, and renewed hope.

Sometimes the best location isn’t the busiest one.

One of the questions we hear most often is, “Why isn’t the hotel on the main road?”

Our answer is simple: because peace has value.

For years, hotels have competed to be as close as possible to busy streets, shopping and nightlife. But modern research is encouraging us to rethink what makes a truly great location.

Studies have shown that long-term exposure to traffic noise and air pollution is associated with higher stress, poorer sleep, elevated blood pressure and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. In contrast, spending time in natural surroundings has been shown to lower cortisol, improve mood, reduce blood pressure and support a healthy immune system.

That philosophy inspired our hotel.

Instead of being surrounded by traffic, we chose to create a peaceful retreat with a botanical garden where guests can slow down, breathe deeply, listen to birds instead of car horns, and reconnect with nature after a busy day exploring Bangkok.

An intriguing area of research is healthy ageing. Scientists are investigating whether reducing chronic stress through regular exposure to nature may help preserve telomeres—the protective caps on our chromosomes. While the science is still evolving, it reminds us that nature may offer benefits far beyond simply helping us relax.

We know our off-road location isn’t for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine. But many of our returning guests tell us it’s one of the reasons they come back. A few extra minutes to reach us is rewarded with a quieter night’s sleep, cleaner surroundings and a more peaceful stay.

As wellness tourism continues to grow, we believe tranquil, nature-focused hotels represent an exciting new niche.

Perhaps it’s time to redefine what a “great location” really means.

🌿 Welcome to your peaceful retreat in Bangkok.

Why Your Hotel’s Location Matters More Than You Think

For decades, travellers have been told that the best hotel is the one located right on the busiest street, in the middle of the crowds and the traffic.

But is that really the best place to rest?

Increasingly, research suggests otherwise. Studies have found that prolonged exposure to traffic noise and air pollution from busy roads is associated with poorer sleep quality, higher stress levels, and an increased risk of elevated blood pressure. While a holiday may only last a few days, every good day begins with a good night’s sleep.

At V20 Boutique Hotel, we chose a different philosophy.

Rather than placing our guests beside congested roads, we created a peaceful retreat surrounded by greenery. Our growing botanical garden is more than just landscaping—it is an integral part of the guest experience. Trees, tropical plants and lush vegetation help create a calmer environment, softening the sounds of the city and offering a refreshing contrast to Bangkok’s fast pace.

There is something deeply restorative about being surrounded by nature. Numerous studies have shown that spending time among trees and plants can reduce stress, improve mood, lower blood pressure and help people feel mentally refreshed. In Japan, this concept is known as Shinrin-yoku, or “forest bathing”—the simple practice of immersing yourself in a natural environment to promote wellbeing.

After a day exploring Bangkok’s vibrant markets, world-class restaurants, temples and shopping districts, returning to a peaceful, green sanctuary allows both body and mind to recover.

Some travellers ask why we are not located directly on a major road.

Our answer is simple.

You can visit the busy streets whenever you like—but you don’t have to sleep beside them.

A hotel should be more than just a convenient address. It should be a place where you can truly rest, breathe a little easier, and wake up ready for another day of adventure.

At V20 Boutique Hotel, we believe that wellness begins with sleep, and great sleep begins with a peaceful environment.

Experience Bangkok by day.
Return to nature by night.

Did you know that where you sleep can affect your blood pressure?

Recent research suggests that living close to busy main roads is associated with a higher risk of high blood pressure. Traffic noise, air pollution, and constant exposure to environmental stressors may all contribute over time.

That is why, at V20 Boutique Hotel, we believe that sleep comes first.

A peaceful night’s rest is not a luxury—it is one of the foundations of good health. We have designed V20 to be a quiet retreat where you can truly unwind, recharge, and wake up refreshed.

After a restorative sleep, you’re ready to venture out and explore the vibrant energy of Bangkok. But when the day is over, you can return to the calm and comfort that help your body and mind recover.

Because every great journey begins—and ends—with a good night’s sleep.
