As you may know, we recently had an outing trip to Korea and got to meet some Yarders there

At the same time, back at The Yard Bangkok, a lovely Korean couple, Jinsu & Saemi came back to visit us. They stayed with us 10 years ago and even took their pre-wedding photos here.

This time, they came back to see how much the place has changed since their last visit. Such a cute coincidence and a lovely story to share.

Even though many things have changed, the warm feeling here still feels the same.

Thank you for still thinking of us and for letting us be a small part of your journey and growth over the years :))!

Neighborhood : Tiny Room Piano Studio

We had a nice chat with P’Kwan, who opened her piano studio in April 2023 .pianostudio
She’s now going into her third year here.

Before that, she used to come by for a beer at Farmer’s Bar sometimes. Since being here, she says it feels calm and easy. She’s made good friends with the owners and our team

“It feels like working at home, with family around, warm and comfy.”

Funny enough, she often comes to hang out with us, so guests sometimes think she’s one of the staff :-D. She also teaches piano and you can rent her studio if you want to practice or just play for fun.

If you see her around, don’t be shy, come say hi!

This is Nack. I first met him many years ago when I announced on our page that we were looking for the "Yard of The Yard", a project where The Yard connects "good-hearted" local businesses with our guests.

Nack reached out to introduce his hostel in Sukhothai called "If You Want Hostel." His concept was brilliant: Nack invited guests to showcase their talents, cooking, playing music, or performing magic, under the theme "If you want to be a HOST." Cool, right?

Unfortunately, If You Want Hostel had to close during Covid. But now, Nack is back with a new way of sharing that same "good-hearted" spirit.
Taste from the root ลิ้มรสให้รู้ราก is his new space, a lab and a community for anyone who wants to discover local wisdom. Nack's passion is preserving local heritage through stories, books, and food.

If you have the chance to explore Thailand beyond Bangkok, Chiang Mai, or Koh Tao, please visit Sukhothai, about 5 hours north of Bangkok. Nack will take great care of you. He's a true friend of The Yard!

Recently, my team wanted to learn how to bake sourdough using natural yeast. They visited Nack's cafe in Sukhothai to learn from the best and get some hands-on experience with traditional fermentation and local sourdough techniques.
Maybe my team can bake great sourdough for your breakfast soon! : )

This room is truly a hidden gem. It is exclusive to our website and cannot be found on any OTA (Online Travel Agency). It’s a little secret reserved just for our "true fans" and direct community.

The room was designed by our dear friends Tati and Max, who have impeccable taste. They used to live here in the Ari neighborhood, and now, they are part of The Yard family.

Inside, you’ll find a cozy atmosphere with a stunning view of our beautiful yard. We hope you’ll fall in love with this space as much as we did.

Team machine or Team hand wash? We’ve got both :-D

Here at The Yard Bangkok, we’ve got washing machines and dryers. If your clothes are not machine-friendly, or you’re just in no rush and feeling a little slow on a day.. We’ve also got space for you to hand-wash and hang them out to dry.

Totally up to you, whatever team you’re on!
And honestly, hand washing + air drying can save you 100 baht… which is basically one big bottle of beer (priorities, right? 😂)

When you think of The Yard Bangkok, you probably picture our big, leafy garden, perfect for just chilling out.

But the real question is… which spot are you gonna pick?

We’ve got plenty for you to choose from:
Want to get some work done? Head to the common room.
Feel like relaxing? Grab a bean bag in the garden or a seat at one of the tables.
Need a smoke break? Yep, we’ve got a smoking club for that too.

Honestly though? You can sit pretty much anywhere here. Pull up a chair by the bar, hang around the reception, our staff are always happy for the company. 😄

Work Yard, play harder. We've always meant it and we always will😆

Our Korea outing was full of laughs, a little chaos, and so many good memories. Normally, we’re the ones giving local tips… but this time, we were just trying to survive (and loving it 😂)

Simple, happy, and something we’ll remember for a long time.

So grateful for this team, and big thanks to Big Som & Little Som 🫶🏻
