Over the years, this house has been a family residence, a medical clinic and a nursery school. Then, in 2008, another chapter began when its doors opened to travellers under a new name: Samsen Sam Place.

What started as an intimate 16-room guesthouse gradually grew, welcoming visitors from Thailand and around the world.

Yet, even as the property expanded, the family chose to preserve more than the original architecture. They kept the feeling that has defined this place for generations the warmth of being welcomed into a home.

Some were born here. Some grew up here. And some carried the memories of this house with them for the rest of their lives.

After opening as a clinic, Bantom Sin House became much more than a place for medical care. It was also a home where infants and young children were nurtured, protected and given a place to grow.

Several families entrusted their children to the care of the household. Some arrived as infants and remained connected to the house throughout their childhood and education.

When the clinic eventually closed, the house became quiet for a time but the silence did not last forever.

In 1994, laughter returned when the family restored the property and opened a nursery school. Once again, its rooms and gardens became filled with the sounds of children learning, playing and growing up.

Looking back, the role of this house may have changed many times, but one thing has always remained: its purpose of caring for people.

From welcoming new lives
to nurturing young children
and now offering travellers a place to rest.

For Samsen Sam Place, hospitality did not begin when the first guest checked in.

THE HOUSE THAT HAS ALWAYS CARED EP.1

Before it welcomed travellers, this house welcomed new lives.

If the walls of Samsen Sam Place could speak, they would have more than a century of stories to tell.

Long before becoming a guesthouse, this historic residence was known as Bantom Sin House. It was once the home of Dr. Luang Vaitayedsrangkul Chuea Isarankura Na Ayudhya a pioneering Thai obstetrician who studied medicine at Middlesex Hospital Medical School in London and worked there during the First World War.

After returning to Thailand, he joined the Department of Obstetrics at Siriraj Hospital. In 1920, he also opened his family home as a medical clinic, caring for women and children and welcoming babies into the world.

The first sound to greet this house was not the rolling of travellers’ suitcases.

It was the first cry of a newborn child and the joy of a family beginning a new chapter.

Today, the house has a different purpose, but its heart remains the same: welcoming people, caring for them and making them feel safe.

This is where the story of Samsen Sam Place begins a house shaped not only by time, but by generations of human lives.
