📌HIC Get Together & Networking #01/2026

After more than two years apart, it was wonderful to see friends, partners, communities, educators, and tourism professionals come together again.

What made this gathering special was not just the conversations, but the shared belief that tourism can create value far beyond travel itself.

We talked about communities, local products, food, wellness, education, culture, and the many ways they can connect with hotels, businesses, and travelers.

One thing became clear:

Communities are not just places to visit. They are sources of knowledge, culture, creativity, local products, and meaningful experiences that deserve to be seen, appreciated, and supported.

This is the direction HIC is moving towards.

This is what HIC is all about:

Connecting people.
Connecting opportunities.
Creating meaningful experiences.
Supporting local communities.
Helping more value stay within Chiang Mai.

There is still much to learn and much to do, but we are grateful to be moving forward together.

Location: Fahlanna Art Museum | Chiang Mai
We were pleased to welcome our HIC Partners, Alliances & Guests to exchange ideas and explore opportunities to work together.

Hotel in Chiang Mai (HIC) is a network of tourism and hospitality partners in Chiang Mai, built on sharing, supporting, and growing together in the tourism industry.
We also invited our CBT Chiang Mai to join us. We believe that tourism is more than just travel. It is a powerful tool that can create value for local communities, businesses, travelers, and everyone involved. By collaborating with CBT Chiang Mai communities and strengthening the connections among HIC partners and alliance members, we hope to make tourism a driving force for sustainable growth, shared benefits, and positive impacts, and meanwhile to reach our regenerative goal together.
Every idea and perspective shared today is valuable. Through collaboration, participation, and mutual support, we can learn from one another, improve together, and grow together step by step.

Hotel in Chiang Mai (HIC) is moving toward a more meaningful tourism ecosystem — connecting hotels, local communities, gastronomy, culture, wellness, and thoughtful travel experiences across Chiang Mai.

Together with our CBT (Community-Based Tourism) Chiang Mai partners, educational sector, and tourism network, we believe tourism should create shared value not only for travelers, but also for local people, culture, nature and the wider Chiang Mai tourism ecosystem.

This is not about mass tourism or price competition.

It is about creating experiences with meaning, supporting local communities, and reminding the world that Chiang Mai holds both value and uniqueness equal to anywhere else.

Our journey may move slowly, but we believe meaningful tourism is worth building carefully.

ปีนี้ Hotel in Chiang Mai จะมีเครือข่ายท่องเที่ยวชุมชนนำโดยประธานเชน เข้ามาเป็นอีก 1 พันธมิตร ที่จะทำเดินไปด้วยกัน และ ได้ประโยชน์ร่วมกัน ไม่ว่า

1. โรงแรม และ อื่นๆ ในเครือข่าย จะได้ กิจกรรมชุมชน workshop ผลิตภัณฑ์จากชุมชน หรือ ผลผลิตทางเกษตร จากชุมชน มาใช้ในธุรกิจของแต่ละคน
2. ชุมชน ได้สร้างเศรษฐกิจชุมชนด้วยการขายสินค้า และ บริการให้กับโรงแรม และ เครือข่าย Hotel in Chiang Mai อาจจะรวมถึงข้างนอก
3. ภาคการศึกษา ได้มีแหล่งให้น้องๆ นศ ได้เรียนรู้เรื่องราวของชุมชน เพิ่มเติมจากที่มีพวกเราคนท่องเที่ยว ในทางกลับกัน เป็นบุคลากรจากชุมชน สามารถ upskill ได้

สุดท้ายถ้า Touring Center, Tours in Chiang Mai, Thailand และ Northern Smile Travel สามารถจะนำเสนอ Product แต่ละอย่างที่พวกเรามีอยู่แล้ว หรือ จะทำ product ก็น่าจะมีประโยชน์ และ เป็นทิศทางที่ดีของการท่องเที่ยวเชียงใหม่ ในการกระจายรายได้จากการท่องเที่ยวให้ถึง Chiang Mai Tourism Ecosystem อย่างแท้จริง ที่สำคัญสิ่งที่ Hotel in Chiang Mai ยังคงยึดมั่นที่จะทำคือสร้างการรับรู้ให้นักท่องเที่ยว ว่า "การท่องเที่ยวของเชียงใหม่มีมูลค่า และ มีคุณค่าไม่แพ้ที่อื่นๆ ในโลก" ผมคงจะไม่หวังว่าเราจะสามารถทำให้ทั้งเชียงใหม่เป็นไปในทิศทางที่ดีขนาดนั้นได้ แต่อย่างน้อยก็คาดหวังว่าเครือข่ายเล็กๆ ภายใต้ชื่อ "Hotel in Chiang Mai" รวมทั้งภาคีเครือข่ายที่ทำงานด้วยกันจะสามารถสร้างลูกค้าที่เป็นแฟนตัวจริง ที่มองหาคุณค่าของการท่องเที่ยว ที่สำคัญมีมุมมองว่าการเดินทางท่องเที่ยวของตนเองนั้นนอกจากจะได้ความสนุกเพลิดเพลินแล้ว คงต้องก่อเกิดประโยชน์หรือมีความหมายกับสิ่งต่างๆ พร้อมๆ กันไปด้วย

การเดินทางของพวกเราอาจจะช้า แต่ผม-เรายังจะทำต่อไป
