The name Little Forest came from a film we deeply love.
It tells the story of someone who leaves the city and returns home to the countryside.
Nothing dramatic happens. She grows food, cooks, eats, and lets one season pass into another.
Yet it stayed with me, because it felt close to my own life.
I used to work very hard. I ate expensive food, but somewhere along the way, I stopped noticing what food really tasted like.
City life gave me many things. But it also made me wonder:
When did I stop feeling the simplest parts of being alive?
Before Little Forest Chiang Mai existed, we had already chosen to leave the city and return to the countryside.
Not because the city is bad, or because the countryside has all the answers.
We simply wanted to feel our own lives again.
To wake up and see Lek planting in the garden.
To watch a tree we planted grow bigger each year.
To pick a vegetable and taste its bitterness, sweetness, or gentle sourness.
To notice the beauty and scent of flowers.
Nothing has to be perfect.
Nature never asks everything to be the same.
Little Forest is only two years old, but we’ve watched so much grow here.
Not only the trees and flowers.
Something in us has been growing too.
For us, Little Forest has never been only about earning money.
It is a homestay, and it is also a business.
But more than that, it is a place where we hope to create a different kind of value.
The value of food grown with care.
The feeling of knowing someone thought of you.
A morning without hurry.
Small moments of gentleness.
And the simple joy of remembering that life still has taste, scent, texture, and feeling.
Little Forest may look like a life where not much happens.
Trees grow.
Flowers bloom.
We plant, eat, and take care of one another.
Then another season arrives.
It is an ordinary life, moving quietly along.
But it is alive.
That is the Little Forest Chiang Mai we are slowly growing into.
Not a place that tells you how to live.
Just a place that invites you to come back and feel the value of your own life again.🌿🤎
