Baan Orapin, named after our grandmother, consists of the original mansion and three guest residential buildings in a peaceful one-acre plus compound filled with mature trees. The original Baan Orapin, a graceful century old colonial-Lanna styled teak wood mansion, was completed in 1914 and has been the family residence ever since. The guest buildings were designed with respect to the Lanna and the original mansion characters: hardwood floors, glazed ceramic floor tiles in bathrooms, clay tiles roof and delicate woodcarvings. Baan Orapin is best for mature, independent-minded travelers. Our objective is to provide an ideal short or long stay alternative for those who look for unique Lanna living experience. Baan Orapin is a five-minute walk to the legendary Riverside Bar & Restaurant, art galleries, boutique shops, and many restaurants along Ping River. A five-minute walk across the river via the nearby footbridge takes you to the Warorot Market, the first market in Chiang Mai.
