❤️One day well spent on motorbike tour!! On "SAMOENG LOOP" plenty of places to stop for a coffee, food and enjoy the mountain views at "Mon Cham", and Samoeng view point!!🌞 And not to forget to go up to "Doi Pui" for the Sunset view point in the evening.

⛰️One of the best things you can do in Chiang Mai is renting a scooter to explore the city and go to places, where the organised tours normally don’t go.
One of the day trips I would recommend is the Samoeng Loop – a pretty easy ride with spectacular views.
🏍️The Samoeng Loop starts and ends in Chiang Mai. It is about 100 km, take the road number 107 to Mae Rim. It is a busy part of the trip. The traffic is heavy around Mae Rim till you get to Mae Sa Valley, the road will become less frequented by cars and you will be able to finally relax.
🌞There are plenty of places for you to stop for a coffee, food with a nice mountains view and lots of things to see and do on the way such as Mae Sa Waterfall (this one should not be missed.) Also the animal places like Tiger Kingdom, Monkey World, Elephant Camp and a snake farm (If you care about animal welfare you should avoid them.) Next on the way are the Queen Sirikit Botanic Gardens. You can also stop by "Mon Cham" for a pictures and the food here is recommend!! (by me...LoL😄)
After you done with Mon Cham driving further to the Samoeng Forest in 20-30 minutes you will reach the Samoeng view point, the view over the mountains is stunning and it is a great place to take photos!! (I love it 😍)
so your trip will most definitely take longer than 5 hours!! (For me...i take the whole day!! 😉😄😎 )

USEFUL TIPS:
*It is better to get gas for your scooter in Mae Rim, or Chiang Mai.
*There are plenty of places to eat and drink on the way, so don’t worry about going hungry.
*Make sure that you have Google Maps on your phone and that your phone is charged!!

A wonderful day away from town at "MAE NGAT SOMBOON CHON DAM"

🌊The Mae Ngat Somboon Chon Dam is a multi-purpose hydroelectric dam in the Mae Taeng District of Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. It impounds the Mae Ngat River, a tributary of the Ping River. The dam is located at the western side of Si Lanna National Park, Where you can enjoy the natural view, swimming, and jumping to the water !! You will be impressed and wanna go back to this trip again!

HOW TO GET THERE?
🏍️ It is not easy to get to by public transport.
So either rent a motorbike or taxi. (Contact us for more information 😉)
One hour north of Chiang Mai stretches the Mae Ngat Reservoir, 18 KM across Sirilanna national park.
🚣‍♀️You need to take a boat from the shore and it takes about 15 minutes to the boat house. It is very nice and pleasing ride.
The boat ride is 600 THB. both ways and you pay it together with the food bill. Excellent food and drinks.
🌞There are water games available if you want to dip in to the fresh water. Floats, slides and kayaks are available. Everyone has to wear life jackets which is nice especially when you have kids. You don't worry about them while you are enjoying ice cold beer.

Ps. Boats stop taking passengers at 5 pm. and I highly recommend visiting Eakachai Dam Houseboat. 😊😉

*By Personal car; Baan Khun Chang Kian is about 14 Km. away from Wat Phra That Doi
*By Motorbike ( You can rent it from our guesthouse too :) ) or any Motorbike rental in Chiang Mai.

The road to get there is too narrow and dangerous
The Cherry Blossom is only available for half month during mid of January – the beginning of February..
