👤 Performer Biographies
🎶 Cooper Wright — Oboe
Cooper Wright is an active performer and educator based in Asia. Since 2013, he has served on the faculty of the College of Music, Mahidol University, where he teaches oboe, oboe literature and pedagogy, and chamber music. He previously served as Woodwind Department Chair, initiating projects such as the Mahidol University Reading Orchestra, faculty wind “Side-by-Side” concerts, and the Student Chamber Music Recital Series.
An avid pedagogue, Mr. Wright has presented masterclasses internationally across the United States, Italy, Indonesia, Thailand, and Myanmar. In 2023, he co-hosted the International Double Reed Society Conference at Mahidol University, welcoming participants from over 40 countries.
He formerly held the position of Principal Oboe with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra and has appeared regularly as a featured soloist. His previous appointments include Principal Oboist of the Bandung Philharmonic (Indonesia) and Ars Musica (Arizona).
Mr. Wright earned his Bachelor of Music from Michigan State University and his Master’s degree from the University of Oregon. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) at Arizona State University. His primary teachers include Daniel Stolper, David Weber, and Martin Schuring.
In his spare time, he enjoys cycling through the Thai countryside and spending time with his dogs, Kahti and Dante.
🎶 Christopher Schaub — Bassoon
Christopher Schaub, a native of the United States, has been active in Thailand since 2007. He served as a bassoon instructor at the College of Music, Mahidol University, for nearly 20 years, and performed with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra from 2007 to 2025.
Dr. Schaub is a founding board member of the Asian Double Reed Association (ADRA). In 2011, he hosted the first international ADRA conference at Mahidol University, and in 2023, he co-hosted the International Double Reed Society (IDRS) Conference at the same institution.
He continues to perform and teach throughout Thailand, contributing significantly to the development of double reed performance in the region.
🎶 Rasikamon (Maprang) Siyapong — Piano
Rasikamon Siyapong is one of Thailand’s most sought-after collaborative pianists and chamber musicians. She has performed extensively with vocalists and instrumentalists across Europe and Asia.
She rejoined the faculty of the College of Music, Mahidol University, in 2019, where she serves as a collaborative pianist. A frequent participant in festivals and competitions, her performances include appearances at the Jean-Marie Londeix Competition and the Beethoven Competition for String Instruments in Bangkok.
Her international career has taken her to cities such as Munich, Graz, Vienna, Salzburg, Athens, and Maribor. In 2018, her performance with soprano Tung Lee was broadcast on Austria’s Ö1 radio program “Das Ö1 Konzert.”
An advocate of contemporary music, she performs regularly at the Thailand International Composition Festival and is a member of Contemporary Enclave, a Bangkok-based ensemble dedicated to modern repertoire.
She graduated with first-class honors in piano performance from Mahidol University and studied at Mozarteum University under the ASEA-Uninet scholarship. She later earned her Master’s degree in vocal accompaniment from the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz, studying with Stacey Bartsch and Julius Drake.
