We recently opened our restaurant where you can enjoy handmade pizzas, salads and desserts.

Everything is made from scratch (including our cheeses and yogurt) with local and farm-to-table ingredients.

Building Hügelkultur Raised Beds

Recently we were building new raised beds because we want to grow more tomatoes for our pizza sauce and also rainy season is coming soon.

Our Cat is Pregnant

In November we were visiting the Doi Saket Temple to see the sunset. Its a beautiful place to spend the evening. There are some interesting statues from Buddhist mythology to admire in a little forest-like area while listening to the endless loop of the speakers playing chanting monks.

While we were in that area, we noticed a cat who was super cute and wanted our attention. She had this calm presence as if she had soaked in all the wisdom from the monks. The way she was slowly swinging her tail left and right was hypnotizing. We already have 6 cats at home, each with a different personality, and this one was definitely another very special one.

We were joking “let’s take her with us”. And then suddenly a voice said in Thai “Do you want to take her home? You can have her”. It was the voice of a monk sitting in his wooden chair and smiling.

We immediately said “yes” and sat down in his space. It was one of those moments where things just fall into place and you instinctively know that its right to just jump onto the wave.

So the next day, we took the cat home and called her “Suea” (its a common cat name in Thailand, its pronounced like “Sir” but a bit different.

In the next days, Suea was immediately feeling at home and enjoyed hanging out with our guests. She also ate a lot. A little bit too much in our opinion. And her stomach became bigger and bigger.

And Suea was getting slower and slower, spending all day just sleeping and eating.

At some point it was clear: We adopted a pregnant cat.

Now we are waiting for the birth of the baby cats. Meanwhile we visited the monk again and told him about the situation. He told us that she already got babies a couple of times and that it was always about 4-5 kittens.

So that means: Himmapun Cat Cafe is opening soon! :D
