Our hostel houses 120+ beds, with large bunk bed dorms, as well as a few beds in a small dorm (rare for Haad Rin) and even a few double beds in the dorm, great for couples on a budget to spoon without springing for a hotel! If you're in Thailand now and looking for where to spend New Year's Eve, come have a bucket with me in Haad Rin, Koh Phangan!
Things are quiet but safe in Koh Phangan... We party still, though smaller than usual without the tourists. Maybe a good thing since New Year's Eve is usually 50,000 people crammed onto the overfilled beach. But it will still be the best spot in the country to celebrate the new year!
After the community started a new night market in Haad Rin last week, with huge turnout and live music, the town is starting to come back to life, but needs some exposure! So I'm working with the townspeople to make a community New Year's Eve Party, in case the usual Full Moon New Years Countdown isn't officially launched.
I've been to several parties where the official Full Moon Party was canceled, but 10,000 people showed up, and the whole town partied as usual anyway - that's just what we do best!
