Mr. Nirun Prabaksorn, Deputy Governor of Krabi Province, presided over the opening ceremony of the project to develop the potential and upgrade entrepreneurs, employees, and personnel in the tourism and service industry of Krabi Province. Activity 6: Food hygiene training for food handlers to prepare for caring for tourists. The event was organized by the Krabi Provincial Tourism and Sports Office at the Red Ginger Chic Resort, Mueang Krabi District, Krabi Province. Mr. Wiphuch Wisetsing, Director of Tourism and Sports of Krabi Province, reported on the objectives of the project.
The project, organized by the Krabi Provincial Tourism and Sports Office in collaboration with the Krabi Provincial Public Health Office, aims to provide participants with knowledge and understanding of food hygiene principles, correct operational standards, maintaining cleanliness in food preparation processes, and enabling them to apply this knowledge to their businesses to meet standards, in line with the guidelines for sustainable public health and tourism development. Thirty participants attended the training.
The Deputy Governor of Krabi Province stated that this activity is very important and beneficial, especially in today's world where tourism plays a crucial role in economic development and generating income for the country, as well as being a key factor in driving the local economy. It builds confidence among tourists in the safety and service standards of food. Food business operators and food handlers are vital personnel directly involved in the health care of the public and tourists. Enhanced knowledge and understanding of sanitation principles, cleanliness, and adherence to public health standards will help reduce the risk of foodborne and waterborne illnesses, as well as elevate the quality of service to a higher standard.
Mr. Wiphuch Wisetsing, Director of Tourism and Sports of Krabi Province, presided over the closing ceremony and presented certificates to the participants of this training activity.
