Mae Hong Son is a remote, mountainous province in northern Thailand, bordering Myanmar (Burma). Though sparsely populated, it's ethnically diverse and home to hill tribes such as the Shan and Hmong. The capital, also called Mae Hong Son, is a gateway to the region's hills. It's overlooked by Wat Phrathat Doi Kongmu, a Burmese-style monastery with 2 ornate white chedis (stupas) built in the 19th century.

Thung Bua Tong Fields at Doi Mae U Kho(Blooming yellow sunflowers in season)

Pang Ung( Camping Paradise )

A place to relax, far from noise
From Pai it will be around 3 to 4 hours ride with scooter includes stopping for photos and rest. Its located really far from the main street so this place is really silent and calm. In the morning its bit cold, so put some warm clothes. the best time to visit is during winter, Dec to Feb. If u plan to stay in chalet, u need to book earlier around 1 month ahead.they also provide camp to rent BBQ set. A small cafe run from 7am to 10pm, but no halal foods for Muslim. so for Muslim, please take some food from pai or mae hong son . its worth to visit.

Moo Ban Rak Thai (Mae Aw) Chinese-style village at the border to Myanmar

This small 'Chinese' village at the end of the world is worth visiting or to stay overnight in a bungalow in the middle of a tea plantation. There is a good restaurant near the lake with a great view.
